Another trilogy of Ace Attorney visual novels in collection with bonuses.
From the technical standpoint, the games are again a little more advanced with more animations and even animated (anime) cutscenes. They still remain text based, with absolute minimum of voice acting (as in few lines over 3 games).
The core game remains the same. There is some effort in the latter two games to make the experience smoother (fast travel can access all opened locations, list of objectives during investigation). The game is still strictly linear, but at least some annoying hangups were avoided. New game mechanics are introduced as well, like the special abilities of each character. These are hit or miss: Appollo's search for tells can be sometimes grindy and tedious, while Athena's analysis is comparatively more complex and enjoyable. playing as an alternative to cross-examination.
The new main characters and their story are good. The other characters and the cases are in my opinion even more absurd than in previous games. This kind of humor is a staple of Ace Attorney series, but it seemed turned up two or three notches more in these games.
The games are still enjoyable, but at times the case were less about uncovering a mystery (which can be deduced fairly well from clues) and more like extracting teeth from unwilling subject (getting the rest of characters to accept it).
