Welcome to the official patch notes for Tales of Fablecraft v0.12.

Features

We added the previously described Charge system as a Spell casting resource and penalty for KOs, and that includes a slew of new tutorial tools and menus that you’ll encounter during play.
We also added a Spent status for characters who run out of Charge.
Thanks to that Charge and Spent system, we’ve also added the bittersweet release of death for your characters.
We re-worked the Self-care Spell to be automatic on cast instead of tied to a dice roll. That’s right; healing only costs a single Charge with no risk of epic failure hanging over your head.
We spent some time making the GM Guide a little bit easier to read and navigate.
We updated the error message that pops up when you try to begin battle without any bad NPCs on the battlemaps. We’re shocked you tried to get your players to murder each other. Well, maybe we’re not shocked. We’re disappoi-- just kidding, we’re not even disappointed.
We added speaker highlighting to video and voice chat. Now you’ll know who’s talking as their box lights up when they speak.
When you click into your inventory, you’ll now get a full view of those beautiful items instead of a small popup. It’s pretty!
We added main menu details and unlock pop-ups for those Galaxy Dice that you’ll get for participating in the Stress Test on June 2nd between 1:30pm and 2:00pm EDT.
We reworked the models for the Underwater and Galaxy Dice Skins.

Bug Fixes

Fixed a bug that would prevent Mages from casting Spells and rolling skill checks during inactive combat.
Fixed a bug that would cause the chat menu to stick on the screen, no matter what you poor Mages tried to do to get rid of it.
Fixed a bug that would cause the inventory panel to display incorrectly during battle.
Fixed a bug that would allow players to open multiple pop-ups while selecting between Spells and Skills.
Fixed a bug that would cause the inventory panel to be blank in some Story Scene sequences.
Fixed a bug that would prevent players without attached Mages from opening and viewing character sheets.
Performed visual QA to the GM Guide and demo flow.
Improved the account creation flow a bit more.
Fixed various, smaller bugs.

Known Issues

If you're rejoining a campaign built before the end-of-May release (v0.12), hero Charge will be set to 0 (only on initial entry). You can refill charge manually by right-clicking the hero, or use the bottom-right menu to recharge.
If you're rejoining a campaign built before the end-of-May release (v0.12), your campaign might show a blank or empty Story Scene / Combat Scene. The GM can select a new environment or battlemap, and the game should resume as normal!

CLOSED BETA PLAYERS: YOU MUST LOG INTO THE DEMO, NOT THE CLOSED BETA, IN ORDER TO EARN YOUR GALAXY DICE. The Stress Test is on June 2nd between 1:30pm and 2:00pm EDT.

Notes

With the introduction of all of the new tech, Character and Campaign wipes were necessary for this release.

Features

New and improved dice animations!
Homebrew: upload custom character portraits and story environments!
Side Tray Improvements: filter your side trays with a click of a button!
The Road to the Starfall Festival: Massive updates to our starter adventure–including full voice-over for the first three sessions.
Light up the battlemaps with an array of new combat VFX!
Shake up combat with some fancy new battle token drop animations.
You can now go directly from one battlemap to another without visiting the story scene.
Battle tokens can now be assigned to any player and switch teams.

Bug Fixes

Many stability and device video chat fixes.
More bug fixes that you can shake a stick at.
If you close the window of a popup for an externally based login, it will now properly clean up so you can continue to login again.
Fixed an issue that can occur during combat when a GM changes a token’s Team. Sometimes control was not saved correctly, this has been resolved.
Fixed an issue where reassigning control of a token still allows the original player to use abilities.
Fixed some reconnect logic to be more consistent.
Fixed a bug that sometimes brought the campaign side tray up in minimized mode.
Fixed issue with status effects not properly ticking down.
Fixed issue with Gravitic Auta breaking combat state.
Fixed an issues with text wrap in some circumstances.

Patch 0.10.27 [Hotfix]

Fixed an indefinite login hang if you closed the game before setting a display name for first timers logging in.
Steam overlay will now properly work in MacOS.

Patch 0.10.5

Shock Grenade will no longer throw error when placed on character.
Video Chat aspect ratio will no longer stretch image if camera doesn’t support intended aspect ratio.
After leveling up, interactions with the level-up UI will properly be disabled.
Illusion Hound’s Shimmer ability will now properly display in the game log.
If you cancel the request to remove a hero from a campaign, interactions will now continue as intended with the UI.
Stackable status effects should now properly show a number when a single effect has been applied.
Scroller bar is now hidden when editing a campaign.

Balance fixes to the final fight of the Tipsy Pearl Adventure.
Dark Wing ability will no longer turn tokens invisible.
Mouse scrolling should now be more consistent in every place where applicable.

Release 0.10.0

Features

Our swashbuckling murder mystery, *Murder on the Tipsy Pearl*, is out now for Wayfarer tier backers and higher!
Our new adventure is packed with new scene artwork, NPCs, battlemaps, music, sound effects, monsters, and battlemap tech.
Adventurers beware: BIG monsters now show as large tokens on the battlemap, bringing some extra drama to the combat scene.
A brand new game design element has been added: player characters now have Talents! Talents are passive buffs that you can choose for your character. You’ll unlock new Talents as you level up!
We now support 4:3 aspect ratios!
We’ve spruced up the tooltips for Inventory items and Combat abilities.
Brand new VFX designs have been added for new monster abilities, and we’ve updated VFX for some existing monsters, too.
We now utilize mDNS in our peer to peer video chat.
Credit where credit’s due: we’ve added more backer names to the Game Credits!

Bug Fixes

During the Hero Creation process, UI pills should now properly update when switching combat styles.
We’ve cleaned up the code for our in-game blur, which should reduce the display issues that some players were experiencing.
When Game Log is open, it should no longer slow down the game.
New Content Code redemptions should no longer appear as failures, even though they succeeded.
We’ve reworded some of the button text to provide more clarity during the friend adding/removing process.
We’ve made a bunch of Inventory fixes and added some polish.
We’ve implemented some Video Chat fixes for a more seamless experience.
We’ve managed to fix the MacOS Audio Click for some, but we’re still working on some edge cases!
We’ve made a lot of polish and reliability improvements to the Battlemap.
We fixed the pesky issue that prevented past campaigns from loading.
If you right click a token to bring up the menu, and then remove the token, the menu also disappears rather than remaining on screen.
Player Login is now a much more seamless experience, so you can sail right on into your adventure!
We've added a lot of polish to the game overall, making it shine in subtle ways.

No longer remove full green pathing options when double-clicking on move origin.
Defend result now properly displays as outcome text.
Game Log no longer shows previous gained flex skill ranks when gaining a new flex skill rank.

Fixed the clicking or ticking sound that sometimes occurs with some MacOS output devices.

Deeplinking Functionality
Invite your friends to your campaign by sharing a link.
Note: You may need to uninstall and reinstall Fablecraft for this to take effect.
Inventory Functionality 1.0
GM gain access to a new Inventory Side Tray.
GM can gift items to players.
Players can give items to other players.
Advantage and Disadvantage dice were added to the game.
Tooltips describe what these are and when they come into play.
You can now change your battle token skin in the battlemap.

Bug Fixes

You may now remove a Hero from a campaign, or join a campaign without first binding a hero.
Resize and reposition uploaded profile images.
Credits scene is now scrollable.
Added new GM Notification Popups when players perform certain actions, like leaving the campaign, or unbinding a character.

Bugfixes:

Removed newer shader code that has incompatibilities with some 2015 Macbook Pro laptops.
Misc Dollhouse Updates.
UI should no longer block Dollhouse campaign notes.
Image update in the beginning of session 4 where we pull in session 3 recap.
Opening Clams should be a difficult role, not impossible.
Properly display description for Woodlander Cuffs.
