I’m excited to share a series of updates to Train World that bring fresh features, improvements, and significant gameplay enhancements. These updates will have a major impact on your rail empire, particularly with the new economic dynamics.

One of the most impactful changes is the new double specialization feature for regions, revolutionizing how you manage your economy:

• Each region now supports two specializations, providing greater production diversity and more complex logistics challenges.
  
• Cities can now host two production facilities, doubling their output potential and offering new strategies for resource management.
  
• Maps have been updated to reflect these changes, and I’ve improved the UI to make it easier to manage the expanded economy system.

This update drastically enhances gameplay by giving you more control over your production chains, unlocking deeper strategic planning as you expand your rail empire.

First, let’s talk about the new locomotives:

• First-Era Steam Locomotives: The 0-4-4 T Onward and 2-6-6 T Mason are now available, adding new historical depth to your early rail networks.

Today marks a special milestone as we celebrate one year since the launch of Train World! It's been an incredible journey, and I couldn't have done it without the amazing community of players and supporters.

Over the past year, I've seen Train World grow and evolve in ways I never imagined. Here are some of the exciting changes and improvements made:

• New Trains and Maps: A variety of new trains and maps have been added, enhancing your gameplay experience and expanding the world of Train World.
  
• Overhauled Economy: The in-game economy has been completely reworked and polished, providing a more balanced and engaging experience.

The biomes and vegetation update cycle begins. I've updated the data structure and increased the number of biomes represented in the game. At this time changes will be minor. This first step will allow me to introduce new trees and vegetation to the biomes without map updates. Older maps will be updated with time and their appearance may change significantly. All of this will not influence previous save files. These changes will be purely visual.

New trains were added in today's update:

• J Class is a powerful steam locomotive that bridges the gap between Big Boy and less powerful steam locomotives in the second era
  
• NRE 3GS is a diesel locomotive with moderate power that will be very useful in the late game for routes that do not have a lot of cargo capacity
  
• ACS 64 is a powerful electric locomotive that has been requested for some time now and will be equally useful for passenger and freight operations
  
• Avelia Liberty will be the pinnacle of the US train tree. With a maximum speed of 350 km/h, this train brings the US into the era of high-speed trains

Today's update also has one new map. Aurelia Atoll has an exciting donut-like shape with 2 ports. I hope this will be a welcome addition, especially for people who like to play on the smaller maps.

In recent weeks, I focused on quality-of-life features, improvements to existing functionality, bug fixes, and adding requested features.

Hi everyone!

I am happy to announce a new big update in Train World is live. Here are the changes that were made to the game since the last announcement.

• Added ability to set production in the cities. Now players will have to choose where each factory goes or what cargo the city is going to produce. There are multiple strategies possible as to how you assign production: shorter distances, higher train utilization, or maximum cargo consumption. Also, players will be able to see in advance what production will be available in the future and plan rail network expansion accordingly. Cities that have production in them will show industry buildings.
  
• Access to ports is now available. A nearby city will turn into a port city and will start to generate contracts to and from it. Also, ports will provide access to resources needed for production that are not available on the map. Some old maps were updated with ports as well. Port models and ship models were added.

• New locomotives were added as well: a unique-looking PS-10 based on a narrow-gauge Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Railroad train, EL 3A was one of the first Westinghouse electric locomotives, and the famous shark nose Baldwin RF16 comes in both A and AB variants. Also, SD 40 received a model update.
  
• Talquell Peak is a small map with a river in the middle. Regions are small but mountains and terraces require a bit of planning from the player. At the same time, they create some very scenic views.
  
• Montara Cove is a medium size map that also packs a lot of beautiful locations. The port will be a central point in gameplay here as it can access every region. You will find all kinds of terrain here from almost flat planes to mountains and valleys.

• All pick panels and major UI options are saved to the save file. Now you will be able to continue playing with all the pick panels open and right from the spot that you left.
  
• All major panels received a key shortcut. You can change those to your liking in the settings menu.
  
• New localizations were added in the past weeks as well. Brazilian Portuguese, Korean, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese became available in the game.

• More locomotives and trains. Many trains were never represented in the games. We know very little about a lot of interesting, cool-looking, and unique trains, and I would like to change that.
  
• More maps. I believe with each map my skills in map-making are getting better and better.
  
• More features to interact with cities. Adding new buildings will have an impact on cargo consumption, passenger generation, etc.
  
• Balancing economy, reputation update, and continuous improvements. Some tasks are just always there.

Hi everyone!

I am glad to announce the addition of new trains to the game. It took longer than I wanted, but I had to work on stabilizing the game after a big December update and then economics updates. Anyway, new trains are here, and more trains are added to the 3rd era, I will compensate for this by adding more trains to the 1st and 2nd era in the future.

Next, I will start working on the new update where I want to start introducing a new management layer for industry and cities. I can't go into much detail as a lot of the features need to be tested first. Still, in general, I want to add more tools for the player to influence industry development in the region and individual city's development.

I will not be posting here details on updates that were introduced. Detailed information on each update is now published in the dedicated topic in the discussions section.
