Q. When is Lost Skies being released?
We don’t have a release date to share yet. Our developers are working incredibly hard to create the best experience possible, and we want to make sure everything is just right before we announce a date.

In the meantime, you can follow us on social media to keep up with updates, sneak peeks, and news about Lost Skies.

Q: What platforms will Lost Skies launch on?
Currently, we’re planning a release for PC via Steam.

Q. Is Lost Skies coming to consoles, Mac or other platforms?
Not at the moment. Our current priority is to launch Lost Skies as the best possible game on PC.

Q: Is the game compatible with controllers?
Yes, Lost Skies will feature full controller support at launch.

Q: Is Lost Skies single-player or co-op?
Lost Skies is designed as a cooperative experience for up to six players. While you can absolutely enjoy the game solo, co-op features and teamwork are at the core of our gameplay vision.

At the moment we officially support 1–6 players, but with custom servers being a feature, the possibilities go far beyond that. We have no doubt that players will experiment and push those limits, and we’re extremely excited to see the new ways of playing that emerge from the community.

Q: Will there be PVP in Lost Skies?
At launch, our focus is on delivering a rich cooperative experience, and PVP isn’t a primary feature. However, player damage is enabled by default, reflecting the dangerous and immersive nature of the world. This means that while PVP isn’t a core part of the gameplay, friendly fire can still occur.

For those craving a more PVP-oriented experience, custom server rules will give players the freedom to create something akin to an open-world PVP sandbox. That said, this approach will be brutal and unforgiving by design, and it’s not something we’re balancing the game around.

Q: Can I build and customise my own skyship?
Yes! Building and customising your skyship is a central part of the Lost Skies experience. Your ship isn’t just your home—it’s your primary tool for exploration & survival.

We’ve taken the ship-building system far beyond what Worlds Adrift offered. In Lost Skies, you’ll have more avenues for progression, allowing you to enhance your ship’s functionality and performance as you advance. Your ship will evolve as you do. On top of that, we’ve added many ways to make your ship truly your own, both practical and cosmetic.

Q. Can my friends and I each have our own skyship in the same world?
Yes! This is one of the key features of Lost Skies. Imagine you and your friends all skysailing into combat together, each commanding your own unique ship! It's a big part of the vision for the game, especially in the endgame.

Q. Do I need to make a new character for each world or can we take any of our characters into our friends’ worlds?
No need to start over! You can take your character into your friends’ worlds and continue your adventure together.

Q. Can the game be played offline?
Yes, Lost Skies can be played offline. However, if you want to play with others, you’ll need an internet connection to join their worlds or host your own.

Q. Will there be a first-person mode?
First-person mode will be available for specific activities, like piloting ships or manning turrets, but not for general gameplay.

Q: Is Lost Skies an open-world game?
Yes, Lost Skies features a vast, fully open world where you can travel to any place you see on the map without any loading screens.

The entire world is yours to explore. We’ll also continue to expand the world after launch by adding new islands, features, and surprises, keeping the experience fresh and exciting for players.

Q: What’s up with the massive creatures shown in the game assets?
There’s a lot hidden within the clouds of Lost Skies… The world is full of mysteries, and we’re excited for you to discover them.

Q. What is Atlas?
Atlas is a unique mineral at the heart of the Lost Skies universe. It has incredible anti-gravitational properties, making it the key reason the islands float in the sky. Beyond that, Atlas is a vital resource with countless creative applications, shaping the technology within the game.

Q: Is Lost Skies a sequel to Worlds Adrift?
No, Lost Skies isn’t a sequel to Worlds Adrift, it’s a brand-new game inspired by some of the core ideas and mechanics that players loved from Worlds Adrift. While it’s not a continuation, Worlds Adrift definitely planted the seed for Lost Skies and influenced it in a big way. The concept of sky travel using skyships, grappling hooks, gliders, and the thrill of exploring a vast, open sky all carry forward into Lost Skies.

It’s a cooperative survival adventure, with a strong focus on survival, teamwork, and creative problem-solving. Unlike Worlds Adrift, which leaned heavily into PvP and felt more like an MMO, Lost Skies is all about crafting your own story with your crew as you explore a world of floating islands filled with mysteries. The islands themselves are more interactive, featuring dynamic puzzles to solve and ancient technologies to uncover.

While the DNA of Worlds Adrift is certainly present in Lost Skies, the gameplay, world, and story are distinct. It’s a new adventure, built from the ground up to take players on a journey of creativity, exploration, and discovery.

Q: Why did Worlds Adrift shut down?
Developing a game as ambitious as Worlds Adrift was always a challenge. Unfortunately, it didn’t attract enough players to remain financially sustainable. On top of that, the technology powering the game, like SpatialOS, became outdated and would have required an extensive rebuild to keep it running which most likely would have resulted in the studio closing its doors.

Shutting down Worlds Adrift wasn’t a decision the team took lightly, it was heartbreaking for everyone involved. We poured so much love into the game and the community that formed around it, and saying goodbye was one of the toughest moments as developers.

Thankfully, we got an opportunity to reimagine this concept, and while it's no easy feat, Lost Skies is our chance to take another shot at that dream. We're building on what we learned from Worlds Adrift to create something fresh, while still honoring the ideas and creativity that inspired it.

Q: Why couldn’t you transition Worlds Adrift to a free-to-play model?
Free-to-play games are designed differently, with monetization integrated from the start. Transforming Worlds Adrift into a free-to-play game would have required a fundamental redesign, which was not feasible.

Q: Why didn't you make Worlds Adrift open-source?
Worlds Adrift was built using licensed third-party tools and proprietary technology we cannot legally share. Making the game open-source would have required stripping out essential code, leaving an incomplete and inoperable project.

Q: Could you allow private servers for Worlds Adrift?
Unfortunately, no. Worlds Adrift relied heavily on SpatialOS, which is not open for public or private server hosting. Without this technology, the game simply cannot function as it was designed.

However, we’ve taken those lessons to heart while building Lost Skies from scratch. A big part of our development approach has been to eliminate the limitations that made private servers impossible for Worlds Adrift. In Lost Skies, players will be able to host their own servers, giving you full control over your adventures and the freedom to create and share your own worlds with friends.

This flexibility is a foundational design pillar of Lost Skies, ensuring that what happened with Worlds Adrift won’t happen again. We've poured too much hard work & passion into the project to see history repeat itself.

Q: Are you planning something special for Worlds Adrift players in Lost Skies?
Absolutely. We know just how much Worlds Adrift meant to so many of you. Worlds Adrift wasn’t just a game, it was a place where friendships were forged, stories were shared, and even lifelong bonds were made (we’ve heard about those who met and even got married because of it!).

We deeply appreciate the love and dedication the Worlds Adrift community showed, and we want to honor that in Lost Skies. While we don’t have details to share just yet, we’re actively discussing ideas with our publisher to ensure that whatever we do it will be enough of a gesture to properly show our gratitude and celebrate the legacy of Worlds Adrift.

Q: What is the business model for Lost Skies? Will there be microtransactions?
Lost Skies will be a one-time purchase. We’re crafting a complete experience without an emphasis on microtransactions, but we may explore premium expansions or content updates down the line.

Q: Will Lost Skies receive post-launch updates?
Absolutely. We’re committed to releasing both free and premium content updates post-launch. We’ll share a detailed roadmap as we get closer to launch.
