Quasimorph has some of the best bones I've experienced in a game to date and I can't wait to see what the devs do with those bones in the future. Is the game difficult? Yes, but it's also fair. Every death will be your fault because the game gives you the tools to not just survive, but thrive. Sneak around to raise your awareness and get the drop on enemies or find a security station and power it up to see where clusters of foes are. Or cause a lot of noise to see if any enemies come running or just breach every door you see just incase. Carve new hallways through walls, leave behind turrets and mines, or activate and arm your own robotic death squad. Use a diverse selection of weapons to get the job done whilst accounting for the damage your enemies dish out with the right armor.

Of course, one single mistake can end a run. Often, those mistakes will be down to a lack of planning, prep, or greed. Often, you'll find yourself dropping antibiotics for an expensive item to extract with only to succumb to infection, or find yourself devouring your enemies which summons horrible hellspawn because you decided to pack extra ammo instead of juice boxes.

Why all the rage? Because you have to deal with every mistake thanks to automatic autosaves. Because you will lose your best gear. Because a contract you'd like to do is super difficult and you'll lose 10 clones to it.

The only flaw is the game's tutorial leads into a rather difficult first mission that forces you to learn the game or die. And you will die, again and again until you understand the turn system, movement system, caloric system, accuracy, and many other factors. But heres the thing, that mission has an in game timer of hundreds of years before it expires and you can explore the solar system taking on easier jobs until you're ready for it. This, much like many other features (such as the ingame economy, faction rep, or ship upgrades) need better tutorials but the games in EA.

Speaking of early acess its clear the game is missing sound files, sprites, models, some animations, lore details, and other features. You are buying a game still under construction but like I said, the games bones are strong. Fights are exciting and tactical, the soundtrack is killer, the art direction is on point, and the finished writing is rather compelling.

Go in naked with only an inter-dimensional demon alien's axe, decimate the floor, eat everyone and wash them down with toilet water, smoke cigarettes and inject morphine to calm my nerves, obsessively take gasoline out of every barrel, get chased down by an inter-dimensional wheelchair alien. Hell yeah.
