Thank you to all our players who have experienced Pine: A Story of Loss so far. We have been working hard addressing bugs, and this patch (v.1.4.12885) has resolved the following issues:

• Fixed some inconsistencies between the animations and subsequent illustrations.
  
• Fixed some missing characters in the Japanese, Korean, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese translations.
  
• Fixed the subtitle on the start screen being reversed in several languages.
  
• Fixed an occasional softlock in the carving interaction.
  
• Fixed overlapping version numbers on the options menu on the start screen.

Today we can’t state just how proud we are to be bringing you diverse games that tell meaningful stories with the launch of Pine: A Story of Loss on Steam.
Pine: A Story of Loss tells an intimate, emotional story that touches lightly on typical gameplay mechanics. You will step into a beautifully illustrated forest glade, where a woodworker struggles with his daily chores as he is interrupted by the cherished memories of his lost loved one.

For the original concept, professional illustrator (Dreamworks, Nickelodeon) and children’s book author Tom Booth[www.instagram.com] joined with friend and programmer Najati Imam to form Made Up Games. They considered video, short novels, illustrations, and more before settling on a short video game experience to tell the story of the grieving woodworker - which echoes how Tom sat with his own grief and initially made the illustrations of the grieving woodworker[www.instagram.com] that formed the basis of this wordless, emotional story.

Pine: A Story of Loss is an interactive experience that will feel familiar to those of us who have lost a loved one, as Tom drew on his own experience with grief and loss when creating a game about life after love.

Due to its focus on grief, this is not a game for everyone. There are, however, moments of beauty and hope interwoven throughout the story as the woodworker processes his grief. It is a personal experience that will affect everyone differently because grief touches everyone in different ways.

Pine: A Story of Loss is a wordless single-serving game that touches lightly on gameplay mechanics while telling the emotional story of a grieving woodworker who is grappling with his grief.

The festival runs from November 14-17, and features a variety of cozy game highlights (including Pine, of course!).
