JK they made this game free for a day on steam, I missed it, and I wanted to support them anyway.

Clever adaptation of Western tropes to a linear cover shooter. The levels allow for different approaches, but never make it unclear where to go next. The narrative is playfull and the overall lighthearted tone is appreciated in a sea of dour and dreary shooters. Overall a dense, enjoyable experience.

Call of Juarez: Gunslinger offers a mix of excitement and frustration, ultimately landing as a middle-of-the-road experience. The gameplay itself is undeniably fun. The shooting mechanics are tight, and there's a certain thrill in gunning down outlaws with a well-timed shot. The game's narrative, however, is disappointingly brief. Just as you're getting invested in Silas Greaves' wild tales, the story wraps up, leaving a sense of unfulfilled potential.

One of the standout features is the arcade mode, which delivers a burst of frenetic action that's perfect for short, exhilarating sessions. This mode can keep you coming back, chasing higher scores and mastering levels. On the flip side, the duels—an integral part of the game—are a mixed bag. While they add a layer of authenticity to the Western setting, their repetitiveness and the occasional frustration they cause can sour the experience.

The game stumbles when it comes to replay value. Playing through on harder difficulties doesn't feel particularly rewarding. There's a lack of meaningful differences or new content to discover, making a second playthrough feel more like a chore than an adventure. The game also could have benefited from more variety across the board—different environments, enemy types, and mission structures would have gone a long way in keeping the experience fresh.

That said, Call of Juarez: Gunslinger was an absolute steal at two dollars. For that price, it's hard to argue against giving it a shot. There's genuine fun to be had here, especially if you go in with tempered expectations. It's perfect for a weekend of gaming, offering a brief but enjoyable escape into the Old West. Just don't expect it to be a game you'll come back to again and again.

On a serious note though the overall art of the game is beautiful and the gunplay is outright legendary and has a really fun and cool story with the stories in the bar
