A new “GAME” options menu can be found in the options screen. This is now where you can find the options for FOV, Camera sensitivity, Head Bob, and Invert Camera.

All button/key controls can now be customized. You’ll find this under the “CONTROLS” options menu.

A toggle for censoring nudity can be found in the “EFFECTS” options menu.

The input issues previously making the game unplayable on steam deck have been fixed :).

Thank you all for playing Night at the Gates of Hell! It's been great seeing people enjoy the game and share their thoughts in streams, youtube videos, tweets, comments, and reviews.

I wanted to share this announcement to serve as an update and ETA for the remaining fixes and post launch support we currently have planned for the game. We haven't forgotten about anyone waiting for these additions/fixes!

Since launch we had a bunch of reports of people asking for settings features that were already in the game such as a fullscreen toggle, camera sensitivity, a camera invert toggle, etc. They just couldn't find them because I organized everything terrible! To fix this we've reorganized all the settings screens in a much more intuitive way. I'll detail this in the next update's patch notes.

We had some people request a nudity censor setting to make streamers and youtubers lives easier. This has been added and will in the next update.

This is a big one. We wanted to have it included before launch but it's been a ton of work since we didn't want to just throw in the default rebinding screen like we did with Bloodwash. We're taking the time to do it right so it can be a launch feature for all our future games. It's still in progress at the moment and is the last thing to finish before releasing the next update.

My sincere ETA for all the additions listed above (alongside a handful of small bug fixes) is about two weeks from now. It's not a promise but I assure you we're working as hard as we can to get this done ASAP.


The game currently doesn't work on Steam Deck. There's an issue with how the game is detecting input so it thinks it's getting input all the time from both a mouse and a controller, making the camera unusable in the game. We've started investigating this and have some solid leads on how we might fix it.

Alongside Steam Deck support, we'd love to implement Steam Cloud Save support so no one would have to completely restart the game on their Steam Deck. No promises but it's a goal.

So that's everything planned at the moment. We will of course fix more bugs as people report them and there's always the possibility of more post launch support but since It's been a couple weeks since the last patch/update I wanted to be transparent and share all this info with everyone.

Bug Fixes

• Fixed gap in second floor ceiling in Evil in the House of Dr. Fleshenstein
  
• Fixed issue where some level unlocks (Extras) were not properly saving
  
• Fixed issue where a jumpscare sound effect in the first cutscene was playing too loudly
  
• Fixed issue where player could get soft locked in Coastal Village barn house basement by zombies not resetting properly on player death
  
• Fixed an issue where player could wind up with negative ammo reserves for a weapon
  
• Fixed an issue where a zombie could push the player out of bounds in Woodside Apartment
  
• Fixed an issue where if a player had previously played a non-steam version of the game and completed objectives that would unlock steam achievements, they would not unlock when playing the steam version of the game.
  
• Fix an issue where an object wasn’t properly getting disabled, allowing the player to soft lock themselves by entering the vents in Woodside Apartment after the second time a section of the floor collapses
  
• Fixed an issue where a player could soft lock themselves in Evil in the House of Dr. Fleshenstein by dropping down the hole in the floor without having previously purchased the connecting doors on the first floor and not having enough points to do so then

Changes

• Added dialogue making the use of the crowbar in Woodside Apartment more clear
  
• Changed position of wooden board in Woodside Apartment to make it’s presence and usage more clear

We are still working on larger additions and fixes including:

- Remappable controls
- Better organization in the settings (mouse sensitivity should be under controls)
- A setting to censor the nudity in the game
- Across the board fixes to prevent animation bugs with the guns

We'll be working to patch these in as soon as we can :)

Includes the following fixes since 1.0.11 (Initial Release Version)

- Fix hard lock from interacting with a cabinet in the Janitors Apartment in Woodside Apartment Level
- Fix hard lock from interacting with a mannequin in wave mode before having appropriate item
- Fix possibility of any other hard locks caused by the issue leading to the two listed above
