Greeting Carants!

In celebration of Paris Fashion Week, we’ve put together a post to share some clothing you’ll be able to find in GreedFall 2, as well as glimpses into the work done by our incredible team.

An ever-important part of the series, fashion makes its grand return in GreedFall 2. Hats, cloaks, armour, and much more await you. Use them to dress up your character and give them the look you want before heading out into the world. With all the different colors and fabrics, you can easily distinguish the factions and origins of each garment.

So, step onto the catwalk, strike a pose, and let’s turn some heads.

Fashion! Turn to the left.

Your fashion choices, of course, comes with its own stats to boost your power. Purchase it from merchants, earn it through quests, or find it tucked away in coffers. Some gear includes a higher rarity, which you’ll discover as you continue exploring.

Keep an eye out, carants, as you never know what powerful gear you’ll find hidden around you...

Fashion! Turn to the right.

Disguises also make their grand introduction in GreedFall 2. Surprise your enemies by stealing their entire fit and wander through their bases undeterred. They’ll never see you coming when they think you’re one of them.

You can even reveal yourself like Clark Kent taking off his glasses by removing the disguise. Be prepared for a fight if you do, though - they don’t take kindly to intruders.

All comes down to personal choice.

This is only a small preview into the vast number of outfits you’ll be able to see and wear in GreedFall 2. The more you explore, the more you’ll discover. Wander down streets dressed in the finest hats, shock the rich in their mansions with mismatching outfits, and dress your companions how you please.

Dive in: The Nauts

Greetings, Carants!

After treading the sacred forests and echoing caverns of Teer Fradee, we now follow the pull of the tides—toward sails on the horizon and eyes marked in blue. In the world of GreedFall, few factions inspire as much fascination and caution as the Nauts.

They arrive in silence and depart with the winds. No banners, no declarations—only their unmistakable ships, their tattoos like currents winding across the skin, and a gaze that always seems to see a little further.

Of Salt, Steel, and Secrets

The Nauts are not born; they are made as sea-born or sea-given.

Once given to their ranks, individuals are stripped of their pasts. In their place: a life of discipline, of precision, of purpose. A new identity, and a code that binds tighter than chains.

They have a codified language and are immediately recognizable by their facial tattoos that represent their advancement in the guild and tell their story.

“We are sea-faring,” as Captain Vasco once said. “We’re not born into it, we’re given. We abandon our former lives to dedicate ourselves entirely to navigation.”

And navigate, they do—better than any. As a guild of seafarers that dominate the waters, they guard their sailing secrets with vigilance to preserve their trade.

Masters of the Horizon

In a world where oceans swallow ships whole, the Nauts chart courses with uncanny ease. Their vessels have been the first to reach Teer Fradie where others have foundered. How they do so is a matter of speculation—some speak of ancient maps, others of techniques passed down in whispers, and some, in misguided conviction, even of heretical magic. But one thing is clear: their knowledge and talent for crossing the high seas give them a unique position in terms of influence and politics with other factions.

No rulers from the outside controls the Nauts. They can ally with all… but owe their loyalty only to their own.

The Blue Veil

Tattoos mark the body of every Naut—a language of lines, curls, and colors. They are badges of rank, of service, of transformation. Outsiders see art; Nauts see identity. These patterns are more than symbols—they are a silent reminder of the oath each Naut swears to the sea, and also a testament to their accomplishments, ranks in the guild and personal story. Among the Council of Admirals that runs the Nauts guild, these marks inspire reverence and respect for the highest ranking officers of the fleet.

Silent Harbors, Strong Currents

In every major city, Nauts maintain their own quarters—small enclaves where their laws take precedence. They offer passage, trade routes, diplomacy. Yet even as they cooperate, they remain apart. Wrapped in mystery and secrets.

Some call them traders. Others call them spies. Most simply avoid crossing them.

Uxantis, Haven of the Nauts

Yet, the Nauts also have a place they can call home.

Uxantis, an island surrounded by dangerous currents and isolated from the mainland, is accessible only to Nauts, and guests can only go there if a Naut vouches for them.

It houses a library renowned for its logbooks, maps and travelogues, but above all the Great Shipyard—a sacred place where all the secrets of Nauts shipbuilding lie, and where outsiders are strictly forbidden to enter.

Historically, it is where the sailors organize themselves into the guild we now know. Governed by former sailors who have retired and by the Master of the Shipyard—they dispense justice, and ensure the supply of building materials and food.

Next Port: The Bridge Alliance

As the world of GreedFall II unfolds, the Nauts remain the ever-moving current between cultures. But while they watch from the waves, others take a different approach—one driven by reason, knowledge, and sometimes ruthless experimentation.

Next, we cast our gaze toward the Bridge Alliance, where alchemists and scholars shape the world not with swords or sermons, but with science.

Community Update #9 | Character Creation & Discord Channel

Greetings Carants,

The last update was released a couple months ago, and since then we've had an increase of players playing the game. We've also received more of your feedback which has been incredibly helpful.

We previously mentioned that the current character creation menu you have in game was just temporary as we plan to add more options sliders to it. So this week, we wanted to share some official images of one of the many things the team is working on at the moment: the new UI and options for character customization.

These images are still WIP, and we plan to share more on our Discord server, where a new channel has recently been created. The goal of this channel is to let us share the small things our team is working on more frequently, as well as the changes and new features we're adding to the game.

GreedFall 2 | Day & Night Cycle

Greetings Carants!

Much like the endless cycle in our own world, both day and night play a part in GreedFall 2’s. Today, we wanted to show off these elements and take you on a little tour.

Remember to pack your sunscreen (or, if you forget, hope the locals sell burn heal) along with your stargazing blanket, and let’s wander under the sky’s vast expanse.

Everything the light touches is our kingdom...

When the sun rises, the world around you transforms. Birds take to the skies, whilst butterflies seek out flowers scattered around towns and forests. Meanwhile, streets fill with life, chatter echoing throughout as people get on with their day.

... so don’t go outside at night.

When it bids adieu and sinks into the horizon, draping the night’s veil across the skies, similar changes take place. With the moon looming overhead, the stars greet you as lights begin flickering within cities. Once bustling streets quieten to a murmur, and, depending on your location, the gentle sound of waves lapping or the cries of cicadas will fill the air.

It’s the circle of liiiiiiiiife.

Thanks to the team’s hard work, you can watch time slowly tick by as environments go from day to night and ambient sounds change around you. Breathing life into the game, it follows you across your arduous journey as you travel through Teer Fradee and Gacane.

Watch the sun set from the windows of Uxantis' council room, admire the midnight skies above you onboard the Constanzia, and listen to the trees rustling next to a flowing river next to your village – if you take a moment to smell the flowers, you’ll be able to witness the world transforming.

Some places will change drastically depending on the time.

This cycle will extend to the next part of your adventure, where bright and lavish streets await you. But careful where you tread. The city is very different come nightfall, as you'll discover in the next chapter...

Dive in: Teer Fradee

Greetings, Carants!

Today we journey into the living heart of Teer Fradee, where the island’s first children—the Teer Fradeans—have woven their destinies with the land itself for centuries.

From the moment you set foot on this mysterious shore in GreedFall II, you can understand their influence: a tapestry of clans, each with its own story, yet bound by a shared language - the Yecht Fradí - faith, and an unbreakable bond to nature.

Ancient Roots and First Contact

Long before any “people of the sea” ever glimpsed the ocean horizon, the Teer Fradeans thrived on the island. They sculpted villages in harmony with the forest, mountain and streams—never as conquerors, but as caretakers. When the first merchants arrived, the islanders greeted them with cautious hospitality. Yet, as axes rang through sacred groves and wells ran dry beneath foreigners' greedy hands, the Teer Fradeans’ true spirit awoke.

Magic Born of the Land

In desperation, the chiefs ascended to the volcano’s rim to plead with “En on míl frichtimen”, the thousand-faced island deity. A pact was forged: magic would flow through chosen few—the on ol menawí—but at a cost. Gifted with natural magic, they draw power from sacred sites, their bodies gradually entwining with moss, leaves, and bark. Linking themselves to the land transforms them into colossal Nádaig, guardians who stride forth to protect the land. Their emergence drove the invaders from Teer Fradee, sealing both victory and sacrifice into legend.

Clans, Chiefs, and the High Monarch

Though united by language and belief, each mál (“chief”) leads a tribe with its own temperament toward the newcomers—some trade, some war, some watch and wait. In times of strife, these chiefs gather to elect a High Monarch, who serves as supreme judge, mediator, and spiritual beacon. Under their rule, the Teer Fradeans stand as one body with many faces.

Villages and Choices

From the Sísaíg Cnámeis (“Bone Blowers”) to Cengeden Anedas (“Tempest Warriors”), each tribe dwells in villages steeped in lore. From Ullan in Vígnámrí, Bladníd in Vedrhais, Dunncas in Vígyígidaw—and many more in hidden hamlets whose names echo through forest and stone.
As the main character in GreedFall 2, in your lakeside home, you’ll face choices that ripple through every clan. Some see “renaigsa” as allies in trade and progress; others, like one of their wise doneigada Mev, warn that peace may be the calm before another tempest.

The Uprooted and Tomorrow’s Guardians

The Uprooted are those who were taken from Teer Fradee and enslaved by the Gacaneans. Though scattered and marked by hardship, they remain bound to the island through ancestral ties and latent magic. Many believe they will one day rise to reclaim what was taken from them.

As a Teer Fradean in GreedFall 2, every choice you make sends ripples across Teer Fradee—and far beyond its shores. Will you make choices based on your ancestors' history and past, or forge a new path for the island and its people? The fate of this world lies in your hands… and that’s just the beginning.

⚔️ Steel or Smoke: Choose Your New Weapon 🔥

In our latest update, we’ve added not one, but two brand-new weapons for you to try out—and they couldn’t be more different.

Are you the kind of fighter who thrives on agility, finesse, and close-range flair? Then the new sword might just become your weapon of choice. Master its swift strikes and elegant footwork to outmaneuver your enemies and deliver the final blow with style.

Or perhaps you prefer to keep your distance, picking off threats before they even get close? In that case, the new rifle will speak to your tactical side. Powerful, precise, and deadly from afar, it’s perfect for those who like to make a statement from a safe distance.

Whichever path you choose, these new tools of destruction are now waiting for you in GreedFall 2. Test them in battle, refine your playstyle, and discover which suits you best.

PATCH: Update 0.2 is live!

Hi carants,

We've deployed a major update which brings the continuation of the main quest, a new region, a new companion, new features, improvements to the combat system, and more. Here's the complete list of what awaits you.

A new region: Olima, City of Stars

With this update, we’re introducing a new area for you to explore! The streets of Olima have opened for you to visit, with plenty to see and do. Take a tour around the port, illegally enter homes, and stumble through the city’s pubs – you might find some interesting information in them if you look close enough.

You’ll also have access to a various number of quests in these new areas. Will you solve them through diplomacy, force your way through with violence, or find another way? The choice is yours.

A new companion: Safia

We’re also introducing a new companion. Safia, a renowned explorer, will join your party after completing a portion of the main story. A member of the Bridge Alliance, she’ll shoot into battle with bullets galore and provide your team with invaluable buffs.

The only thing sharper than her intellect are Sybille’s blades. We suggest not getting on the wrong side of either.

The Hub

The new update will introduce the Hub. You will acquire your own ship (not a boat!) where you can prepare your journey, talk to your companions, and more. Good thing Alvida is there to help you set sail for your adventure’s next destination.

Improved Combat System

Following your feedback, we’ve also improved the combat system. With this update, you’ll be able to experience a more dynamic version of the combat. It will now feel more responsive, with snappier reactions and animations, clearer visual feedback, new ways of handling different situations, and more.

With the new weapons (rifle and sword) and skill trees at your disposal, your foes had better behave!

But that’s not it. The new update also brings various additions and fixes, such as:

The Disguise system – Take advantage of your new cover to infiltrate the enemy lines.
New regional quests and events – Learn more about the world and discover more secrets.
Beginning of the companion quests – Get to know your companions and help them achieve their goals.
New level cap – Your max level is now 30.
Respec consumable – Feeling like trying a new playstyle? It is now possible with this new consumable.
Improved interface – See the game in a new light with new icons and better UI.
Bugs fixing – No more miners missing their pickaxes!
- Fixed various issues with the companion's behaviors in combat.
- Fixed issue with Nilan being inactive in combat in certain instances when the Autonomous Party is on.
- Fixed issue with the skills or attributes not being properly retained by the companions.
- Fixed various issues with the Monkeys in the trees in combat.
- Fixed issue with the compromising document which could be found before going to the Inkmistress and triggered the wrong dialogue.
- Fixed issue in the Treasure Island quest with the Last letter which wasn't added properly to the Notes section.
- Fixed issue with some dialogues not triggering as intended after opening the chests during the treasure hunt.
- Fixed issue during the trial where the Shipyard Master and Emissary Zahide’s lines overlapped with each other when presenting the evidence.
- Fixed issue with Admiral Cabral’s head during the cutscene when arriving in Uxantis.
- Fixed issue with one of Telmo’s lines missing audio during Like Father, like son quest.
- Fixed issue with the grenade’s impact following the player's character during battle.
- Fixed issue with the unusual spawn of a hostile naut group near the Inn in Uxantis at night.
- Fixed issue after finding Diogo where there was an infinite loop when talking to the Naut Guard.
- Fixed issue where it was possible to buy a shovel from the Merchant or Blacksmith before finding it in the fortune camp.
- Fixed LOD issue on Uxantis level.
- Fixed issue with Safia’s head during the cutscene when you first meet her.
- Fixed issue in the Journal entry where the time left before the ship is ready to leave Uxantis wasn’t properly displayed.
- Fixed issue in Find the gold scales quest which prevented it from progressing if the statue was crafted after obtaining the quest from Armal.
- Fixed issue with The missing scales quest which couldn’t be completed when creating the statue for Armal while having golden scales and miners loot in the inventory.
- Fixed issue with the main character behaving unusually during the dialogue with the Fort Captain when asking help with interrogating the Woodcutters.
- Fixed LOD issue on Teer Fradee level.
- Fixed issue in tutorial popup which displayed the wrong keybinds after leaving Minan’s house.
- Fixed issue with the tutorial popup for the Journal lacking a prompt button when using a gamepad controller.
- Fixed issue with floating wooden rafts colliding with rocks in the native village.
- Fixed issue with the NPC’s animations in the Bridge Alliance’s Fort.
- Fixed issue with the missing keyhole on the mine’s doors.
- Fixed issue with Armal’s teeth when talking to him.
- Fixed issue with certain hairstyles floating unusually.
- Fixed issue during the Ritual Arena combat tutorial which caused the popup windows to disappear when entering the Pause Menu.
- Fixed issue during the Ritual Arena tutorial where activating the Autonomous Party option during the fight will halt it.
- Fixed issue with the harassed miner who doesn’t do anything if the party attacks the offenders.
- Fixed issue during A new evil quest which displayed unusual behaviors from one of the miners before triggering the cutscene.
- Fixed various localization issues.
- Fixed various descriptions and UI issues.
- Fixed various issues with animations and collisions.
- Fixed other various issues.
And more!

As previously mentioned, with this patch and its large amount of new content added, your old save files won't be compatible with the updated version of the game. You'll need to restart from the beginning to experience this new adventure.

Update 0.2 | Improved Combat System

Since the launch of GreedFall 2’s Early Access, many of you have shared your thoughts on the combat system. You’ve expressed clear expectations: more fluidity, responsiveness, and clarity. We’ve heard you and improving the combat is one of our priorities.

The upcoming update marks a major step in that direction. It improves the overall feel of combat, enhances visual clarity, and reinforcing the tactical aspect of the system.

More Responsive and Dynamic Combat

The reactivity and close-quarters combat in real-time have been significantly improved. Attacks now trigger sooner and chain together more quickly, with snappier animations and smoother transitions — there’s no more returning to idle poses between strikes. Your character keeps their momentum more effectively, and micro-movements are better handled, especially when using abilities or when changing directions – the start of attack’s movement blending with the change of direction to be more reactive and dynamic.

Movement has also become more fluid with the addition of strafe mechanics, faster 90° and 180° rotations, and gap-closing mechanics that help reduce downtime between actions.

The Lock Target system has also been reworked. It now allows you to have a closer use of the camera in real-time combat, improved target-switching, and smoother transitions between enemies. Unlocking the target, attempting to flee or repositioning during the fight can be triggered by naturally sprinting on the battlefield. The result: your locked target stays in focus as long as you want, without compromising clarity or control for the rest of your actions.

A Clearer Interface for More Informed Decisions

Visual feedback has been improved across the board: damage, critical damage, status effects, and positioning bonuses (like flanking or verticality) are now much easier to identify. Afflictions (and their active/inactive state) are more readable on characters, and enemy immunities are clearly displayed. You’ll always know what’s happening — and why.

The UI has also been redesigned to better support gameplay: new icons for abilities, effects, and loot; clearer health and armor indicators; and improved visibility for Action Point gains. The skill tree now directly displays weapon abilities unlocked through each branch, and shortcut descriptions have been refined for better understanding.

A Deeper Tactical Approach

For those who prefer a more strategic style, the tactical mode has also received significant improvements. New tactical skills now allow you to issue group commands such as hold position, rally, heal, or revive. You can also order your allies to disengage when in difficulty, making it easier for them to immediately dodge any spicy situations – for example when your ranged fighters need to avoid melee people coming at them.

Allies in danger are more clearly highlighted, and the play/pause buttons are now more visible to help you manage decisions in the heat of battle.

We've also improved enemy behaviour to allow a more balanced spread of targets at the start of combat, as well as more logical reasoning from the AI towards actions taken during battle.

Another key improvement: knockbacks or movement-altering effects no longer wipe a character’s action queue. This allows for finer strategic control, even when the situation starts to spiral.

And This is Just the Beginning

These improvements mark an important milestone — but we know that combat is a core pillar of your experience. Our goal is to make the real-time experience more engaging and fun, both for players who are used to action RPGs and for those who want to discover the tactical aspect offered in GreedFall 2. We’ll continue refining it throughout Early Access. More changes are already in the works: balance tweaks, new animations, community-driven adjustments… You'll see the combat system evolve with every update, right up to the final release.

Update 0.2 | The Hub

Carants,

The next update is set to release on the 27th of March. Before you get to experience it, we would like to introduce one of its many additions to the game: the Hub!

What is the Hub?

In simple terms, the Hub is your own ship (not a boat!) which is accessible from any level via your World map, except when you’re in a dungeon.

What can you do with the Hub?

Once you’ve acquired your ship, you will be able to access this specific level anytime and it will allow you to properly prepare your journey. There, in the next update, you will be able to:

Rest
Manage your party
Manage your party’s equipment
Access your Workshop
Access your Chest
Teleport to any visited levels

In the future, we plan to add other things like:

Buying materials from a Merchant
Accessing romance scenes
Accessing your Messages
Welcoming some NPCs you rescued on board

You can also encounter your companions on board. Watch Sybille and Ludwig play cards, Nilan carve stone, and Fausta write letters. You might even be able to get to know them better if you so choose...

Of course, if being at the helm of the ship is not your cup of tea, you can always ask Alvida for a little help. After all, one can’t deny the value of a Naut’s knowledge when it comes to ships!
