A lot of fun with some good spooks

Let me preface this review by saying I think this will be a fun and enjoyable game for certain kinds of people. I, unfortunately, am not one of them.
I got this game due to its slasher-movie aesthetics. I was hoping for something along the lines of Clocktower, a horror adventure game all about trying to solve puzzles while evading a relentless killer.
This game has the puzzles right. In fact, I'd say they're great puzzles, not relying on insane moon logic at all, and able to be worked out logically.
The problem is that this isn't a horror game. Not really. The killer is virtually a non-entity. It is easily evaded, will rarely, if ever, take you by surprise and just isn't that scary.
This game is a psychological horror all about dealing with being a shut-in. And I just can't stand it. Everything involving the main character is her whining and expressing incredibly vague negative emotions. I personally am an introvert, but I just couldn't relate to the sheer degree the main character apparently cannot process any social interactions whatsoever.
Again, I fully think this game will work for many people. There may be many who will find the story and the main character very understandable and a reflection of their own issues. And for people who like the mood of a horror game, but maybe can't handle more intense scares, this game is manageable.
But it just wasn't what I hoped it was going to be, and I felt very unfulfilled by the plot. I'd love to see these developers take on a more straight-forward horror approach with the same kind of puzzle logic they used here. As is, Homebody is a well-made disappointment for me personally.

A pleasant surprise! A little escape room and a little psychological horror worked really well together like this. I would love to see another iteration from the developers! <3
