Tsukuyomi, New Weapons, Armor Set, New Serial Hunt Quests

Have you been keeping your skills sharp? How about your equipment; is it ready for anything? Tsukuyomi, a new light-devouring kemono, is hurtling towards Azuma. Before the end of this relay, it is likely to have already arrived. Remember to hide your fear, Tsukuyomi will not be an amenable opponent.

In today’s content update, the new Tsukuyomi descends into Fuyufusagi Fort, bringing with it materials for new weapons and an armor set. This month’s content update also introduces four new Serial Hunt Quests that feature entirely Mighty and Volatile kemono. You’ve got your work cut out for you this month.

New Kemono - Tsukuyomi
A new light-devouring kemono—Tsukuyomi—has appeared at Fuyufusagi Fort. If you are to defeat this tyrannical territory seeker, you must bring all your hunting skills and knowledge to bear against it.

“Specter of the Eclipse” is the ominous moniker the Tsukuyomi has earned, but why? Does the sun hide behind the moon, or does this beast devour light itself? For it appears to feed not on Celestial Thread, but on rays of sunlight. And though it's said not to tussle with other kemono over territory, few creatures can survive without the sun's light. Mankind included.

The Tsukuyomi absorbs light in order to fuel its attacks. When you notice it starting to muster energy, try to send it reeling by use of a Pounder, Firework, or similar karakuri. Then strike as it resumes its energy build-up. Just remember that it's extremely resilient to physical strikes, so be wise and seek to bolster your attacks by elemental means.

New Serial Hunt Quests
Four new Serial Hunt quests have been added to the Side Stories section of the Main Map. These four new quests exclusively feature Mighty and Volatile Kemono. We do not expect these to be easy, so prepare yourself for a grizzly challenge!

If you’ve yet to take on any of the Serial Hunts, here’s a quick refresher on how they work: On Serial Hunts, you’ll be forced to hunt a gauntlet of Kemono, each within a set period of time. While you’ll be able to quickly gather yourself in between hunts, hunters will be unable to draw from healing water wells.

Each time you successfully take down a target, your reward increases. However, if you fail at any stage of the hunt, you’ll receive no reward at all. Hunters may choose to end the hunt early in order to at least receive any rewards promised up to that point.

In addition to the rewards from each round, successfully taking down all targets in a single run will grant new Chat Stamps and Emotes.

Highlighting Dolby Atmos & DTS:X
While already included in the first release, we wanted to highlight the amazing work that has been done by the team to incorporate Dolby Atmos and DTS:X as audio options. Dolby Atmos and DTS:X—both spatial, or three-dimensional, surround sound—enhance each and every sound found in the world of Azuma, allowing you to become completely immersed in each hunt.

When Dolby Atmos and DTS:X are enabled, here are just a few of the transcendent moments you can experience:
● The roars of the giant kemono, including squeaking sounds of the plants and minerals that coexist in their bodies, and the flapping of the wings of aerial kemono flying overhead, will all become more three-dimensional, further enhancing the enormity of each kemono.
● While it is easy to understand the mechanics of the Fireworks karakuri, you will feel it in your bones when they are launched into the sky, even if they detonate outside of your field of vision.
● Hear native Japanese birds chirping and insects buzzing; each adding to the realism and instantly transporting you to one of Japan’s four seasons.

Composers of WILD HEARTS
A wide variety of composers have worked on the music of WILD HEARTS:

Masashi Hamauzu's music beautifully expresses the majestic nature of WILD HEARTS. From the title screen, Minato's daily hubbub, Deathstalker's hunt, various music during exploration, to other beautiful music that blends in with the surrounding nature of Azuma.

Daisuke Shinoda's powerful Japanese-style orchestral music adds excitement to the Lavaback, Golden Tempest, Sporetail, Ripclaw, and Murakumo hunts, as well as for the Deeply Volatile Kemono hunts.

Combined with the powerful Japanese-style sounds created by Koei Tecmo's composers (Junya Ishiguro, Ippo Igarashi, Modanqing Zhu), the magnificent performances of a wonderful orchestra, Japanese instrumentalists, and singers all come together to weave a vibrant world.

Summer is just around the corner! But before we all go splashing in random pools of water after a pop-up rainstorm, we need to set some ground rules. Well, one rule really: If it’s a purple pool, it’ll probably poison you. With the new Alpha Venomglider around, you really have to look before you leap.

In today’s content update, the new Alpha Venomglider variant swoops into Akikure Canyon, bringing with it materials for new weapons, an armor set, and a new eyeglasses ornament that, while not offering any benefit to sight, is a curiosity enjoyed by people of taste. This month’s content update also introduces Volatile Test Quests.

New Kemono Variant - Alpha Venomglider

There are reports of a new “Alpha” kemono running rampant across long-established territories festooned with what appears to be spider lilies on its body. Taking new weapons and armor in hand, rise to the challenge of this latest threat.

After completing the main story quest, a new “Fierce Floral Profusion” quest will be added to the Side Stories section.

New Quests - Volatile Test Quests

Volatile Test Quests have been added to the Side Stories section of the Main Map. These quests allow you to fight against existing Deeply Volatile Kemono without consuming Keystones and with more lenient conditions in exchange for a lesser reward.

These are excellent for hunters struggling to finish off Deeply Volatile Kemono with a single Life Thread, giving you a more flexible opportunity to learn the differences between Volatile and Deeply Volatile Kemono attacks.

Alpha Sapscourge, New Weapons, Armor Set, Ornament, New Trial Quests, New Ways To Limit Break

The trees and flowers are blossoming, the birds are overhead chirping, and the unique smell of spring is in the air! We are solidly into the allergy season. Or wait… that might just be the new Alpha Sapscourge scattering sap and pollen everywhere in our May content update that went live today. Either way, we’re all losing our Surprise Attack bonuses after a sneezing fit.

The new Alpha Sapscourge variant rolls into Harugasumi Way with new weapons, an armor set, and a new earring ornament modeled after the mysterious Tsukumo, all made from Alpha Sapscourge materials. This month’s content update also adds a plethora of quests. From the entirely new Trial quests, to hunts that target specific Volatile Kemono.

The Limit Break system has had its limits broken! Weapons and armor can now have their Attribute power and Resiliency enhanced, respectively. Inherent Skills are also able to be changed or added.

New Kemono Variant - Alpha Sapscourge
There have been frequent sightings in Azuma of a Kemono that boasts remarkable vitality, and brims with celestial thread, which it commands at will. By successfully hunting such a beast, you could surely obtain first-rate materials to forge new weapons and armor.
After completing the main story quest, you’ll be tasked with dispatching the Sapscourge in a new Side Stories quest called “Alpha Amber Rogue”.

New Quests - Trial Quests, New Volatile Kemono Quests
While on a new Trial quest, hunters will be required to take on Kemono equipped with predefined armor, skills, and weapons. Test your skills as a hunter within these spartan constraints to see how swiftly you can triumph.

Trial quests do not require you to own any of the equipment, making them great opportunities to try out builds you’re less familiar with before investing gold and materials into new equipment. Rewards for successfully completing a Trial Hunt improve the faster you subdue your target.
Trial Quests will be added to Chapters 4 and 5.

Quests featuring specific Volatile Kemono have also been added from Chapter 3 to Side Stories. To unlock these quests, specific conditions must be met.

New Ways To Limit Break
Weapons and armor can now have their Attribute power and Resiliency enhanced, respectively, using Core Orbs. Just as with Attack and Defense Limit Breaking, the number of times you can carry out such enhancements, and the effects they have, are different for each piece of equipment.

Hunters will also be able to use Core Orbs to change or supplement a weapon’s Inherent Skills. New skills are decided at random based on the type of weapon. The weapon’s default Inherent Skills and currently attached skills are excluded from the selection. When receiving new skills, the resulting skills will top out at a value slightly less than any already attached Inherent Skill.

Weapons will also be eligible for a third Inherent Skill. Any skill in this third slot will be significantly lower. Consequently, skills with values below a certain level or skills without a value to start with cannot occupy the third slot.
