Greetings, Tormentosia!

As we previously mentioned, there is to be a second, final wipe taking place to prepare for the release of Liquid Meadows. We can’t begin to thank you enough for your patience during this initial wiped period in helping us gather valuable information on server stability. Now… let’s get to something really fun!

To encourage your creativity, we’ve been discussing a contest to take place during this period before the next wipe. The details are in, and it’s as follows:

Do you think you have what it takes to be crowned the best, creative builder in Coreborn? Now’s your chance to prove it! We’re calling all of Ambros to flex their creative, town-building muscles to craft the most impressive town!

Sorgoth took away the comforts of Tormentosia and you’re bringing it back. So, we’re looking for towns that are focused on showcasing the strength of rebuilding communities. What does this mean to you? Can you build a school? An auditorium? A convenience store? A hotel? A public park? A neighborhood? Make Ambros bustling once again before the arrival to Liquid Meadows!
To participate, adhere to the following rules:

• You can only use Lightwood or Stone-based materials; any other materials will result in a disqualification (this rule also applies for structural integrity) The reason for this is because they are the base, most readily-available materials for every person on Coreborn; this puts everyone at the same starting point
  
• You cannot use holiday/event parts
  
• You must have 2-or-more structures built in your town—we’re looking for creative towns, after all, not houses
  
• You can use any of the furniture, but lamps are also restricted to wood and stone
  
• There will be (2) winners from each of the Official Coreborn servers, and (1) winner from a Single-Player server
  
• The (2) winners from the Official Coreborn servers will be split into two categories:
  » Solo Projects - no additional members/outside help
  » Group Projects - towns with 2 or more participants
  
• You will submit a picture and/or video of your Town’s final product and location on the map via Discord, Twitter, Instagram, Threads, or Steam Discussions
  » Pictures (.png, ,jpeg, .jpg) and Video (.mp4, .mov, .mkv) formats.
  » For video files, please keep them under 200MB, 1920x1080 preferred
  
• Make sure you and your name + your town’s name/members are in the media with the town present
  You must upkeep the maintenance of your build until the deadline (i.e.: cannot build it, then let it go to waste, and let it disappear/lose ownership)
  
• The more creative, the higher your chance of winning; biggest builds does not mean best build

The deadline for this contest is: June 16, 2024, 12a PDT.

Judging will be handled by the Blankhans staff. The declared winners will have their names inscribed on the description of a brand new item: a golden builder’s apron, no matter who wears it on any server. This apron will be available to everyone, sure, but the description will have the winner’s names listed so that no matter who wears it, [potential winners] will always be acknowledged. As of the time of this ruling, the apron is purely cosmetic, but if that changes, you’ll know.

Hello, everyone! The global wipe is completed and brings about a few important changes including a highly-requested player feature: personal servers and MORE! Read below for the full details on how you can take advantage of this and other features.

Also, a reminder that there will be one more wipe in a couple of weeks as part of our massive launch of Liquid Meadows and the Children of the Source. As we are still in Early Access, this will be a crucial time period to refine and make necessary changes ahead of a launch.

From now until May 30th, save 70% on the price of Coreborn! If you haven’t had a chance to check out our previous patches or are curious about our new ones, this is the perfect opportunity to do so!

You now have the option to start the game in Single Player mode at the main menu screen. While in Single Player, you can access the Server Settings at the main menu, but be aware that some of the changes you do here might need you to restart the Single Player.

Also, it is possible to get a backup of your old map to experiment with and use it on the Single Player mode or apply it on the Server.

• For Single Player, go to the path Coreborn\DedicatedServer\Ultracore\Saved\SaveGames. This is also where you can "Wipe" your Single Player experience

If you press Play Online, you will now see the Server Browser. Here, you can spot Official Servers (they’ll have a blue Coreborn Logo) or join servers that other players have rented.

Players now have the option to rent their own server here: https://pockethost.app/en/gameserver/coreborn-server-hosting/. By default, your server will not show up in the Server Browser. So, if you want to see it there, be sure to make it public in the Server Settings. You can also set a password for the server and add an admin password to access the Sever Settings. Also, be aware some changes require a server restart.

You wanted it; you got it. Players can now SWIM! Swimming is limited by your stamina on the stamina wheel. The only way to recover stamina is by leaving the water. If you run out of stamina while in the water, you will start to take damage and eventually die. This swimming addition also comes with some changes to waterways in Ambros. :]

• If you can't do certain actions, a Jibbling will show up
  
• Added some Steam Achievements! Let's see if you can achieve all of them
  
• Added a Barber in Pipers Whistle that lets you change your appearance without deleting your character(!!!!)

• Now all consumables should be affected by consumable hoarder perk
  
• Prodigal Alchemist Perk should now apply to all potions

• The Capture the Crown mini game was removed (The ‘Fancy’ Armor Set might come back in the future)

Hello, everyone!

This serves as a head’s up of our two upcoming server wipes. The first is taking place within the next day-or-two—May 14-15, pending backend problem-solving—as we prepare for our exciting changes in our server structure! The second will be a Liquid Meadows launch wipe which will only be a few weeks after the first. As announced earlier, the wipe will clear all creations and structures on every Coreborn server, facilitating our next few exciting phases.

One of the exciting changes we previously announced is the inclusion of stand-alone servers. This will allow you to have the opportunity to play Coreborn on a more personal level with a local environment. We’ve been keeping tabs and this has been a highly-requested feature for quite some time now. As you can imagine, we’re happy to bring it to life.

In addition, this will also present the opportunity for private servers that players will have the option to rent in order to house their own Coreborn community. We strongly believe this builds endless possibilities in your own spaces and, again, is a frequently requested feature. Due to the nature of this creation, this also means removal of encryption. So while this does leave room for modding, please do so at your own discretion. We will not have our own mod support.

The public servers will still be available to those who prefer to play the way you’ve already become accustomed to playing.

One of the fun aspects of Coreborn are the holiday-themed items acquired during Frostfall, St. Gibb’s Day, and more. After the server wipe, we will introduce a vendor that will provide players to gain access to those holiday items. Also, they’ll have items that are otherwise not dropped by normal means.

To offer a bridge between these two points and keep your building spirits high, we’ll be creating a little contest to reward solo town builds and group town builds. It will be a way to really showcase your win and your creativity. More details to come on that.

We’re still on the fast track to push out Liquid Meadows, The Children of the Source, new furnishings, mounts, and more features to continue to build upon what has made Coreborn special with the community. This extreme focus means that the frequency of updates (normally every ~3-4 weeks) will minimize and our roadmap is under construction.

We’re happy to be providing this exciting change; as we’ve said in the past, it’s your voice that has been steering our direction towards what you’ve requested. We are still in Early Access; the goal is still to utilize it as a chance to refine and improve the game. We expect this is the last big improvement before launch for a fluid experience with less maintenance required in the future.

Our goal for this patch was to improve the new player experience from the very moment you start the game in the land of Ambros. To facilitate this, we’ve completely overhauled the start of the game and how you will be introduced to Coreborn. Firstly, you will help rebuild Pipers Whistle. While doing this, you will get introduced to various Jibblings, Hedonists & others, learning more about what they’re doing there. Hopefully, This will familiarize you with the game's core systems while we bring other rebuilding steps later.

• After Character Creation, players will now start in Ambros with some basic equipment.
  
• Character Creator now shows the starting equipment.
  
• You will be greeted by an NPC and asked if you want to go through the tutorial.
  
• This tutorial will teach you the game's basics while briefly introducing the world narrative and some NPCs.
  
• You will see many visual changes in Pipers Whistle and all over the map.
  
• The path into Pipers Whistle is clearer when approaching it from the Coreheim gate.
  
• Certain wheat fields have been destroyed, buildings throughout the world are damaged, and many buildings in Pipers Whistle will need to be rebuilt to shine
  
• There are now map & world markers to help you find your way to the objectives.
  
• We have added a quest journal in the menu where you can track and see your quests.
  
• We added a system that evolves certain buildings depending on your quest progression.
  
• There’s now UI highlight effect to quest-relevant building pieces, items, and recipes.
  
• Wooden Axe and Pickaxe are now Schematics that you learn during the Tutorial.
  
• Vendors can now have different stock depending on quest progression.
  
• Introduced a brand new conversation system.
  
• There is a new option in Settings that hides the HUD during a dialog.
  
• Added more NPC talking animations (Jibbling, Juristograph & Molian).
  
• We’ve introduced the concept of public crafting stations. You’ll rebuild these as part of rebuilding Pipers Whistle and can use them without building a town first.
  
• Public crafting stations are, in fact, public. If you leave your items behind, others can pick them up; we’ve added a warning about this for now.
  
• Town Permits are now used to build a lvl 1 town. You can get these from specific Jibblings (Nib in Pipers Whistle or Tibbs on the map) for free after a quest or craft them manually.
  
• We’ve made the very first town attack you encounter a bit easier as a way to ease players into it and set expectations.
  
• The first town now automatically sets the player's spawn point to the town.
  
• The town gate and jibbling maintenance system cost was reduced, and they now take 2 Lightwood to build.
  
• The town page in the building menu now shows the town icon.
  
• We placed a new Juristograph in the Tavern of Pipers Whistle, which allows you to exchange resources for Condensed Crystals at the same rates as the one in Coreheim.
  
• We removed some of the dressing in Pipers Whistle to clean up the Marketplace.
  
• We changed Fraudo’s name to Broglio.
  
• Also, the ‘Wanted: Molian’ Sign got a visual update ;D.

We have also included a temporary “St.Gibbs” event! You can find a special NPC near the Tier 2 hunting vendor. He’ll be happy to give you all the details, but we’ll also give you a small sneak peek here.

During this event, you can collect clovers in various locations on Ambros, and you’ll have to find some clues to figure out the exact locations. Once obtained, you can trade these for unique schematics for decorative and other useful items.



We adjusted the timings and animations of every creature to better suit the new combat system. This is still an ongoing task and represents the first pass on this topic.
We hope you enjoy the adjusted combat timings:

The adjustments contain:

• There have been universal changes to all creature attack telegraphs. They now propagate, have more consistent behavior, size, and timing across creature types, and are better timed with animations.
  
• Changes to creature attributes across the board: Most early-game creatures now have less Life. Mid- and late-game creatures have increased Life or Attack.
  
• Changes to creature animation lengths on certain attacks for consistency and alignment to the new player combat.

To gain more control over the character, we have added diagonal dashes and reduced the frames where you can’t dodge out of an attack (this is only blocked in Arial frames now).



We introduce our first attempts to enhance the survival aspect of our game. You will be able to receive new status effects through interiors and also will notice new effects if your character gets wet:

• We introduced a new survival mechanic: the shelter system.
  
• You obtain a new ‘wet’ build-up effect from rain, snow, and water bodies.
  
• When sheltered, you will be protected from wet weather.
  
• While in a player-built shelter, you will be able to get a comfort buff based on the quality of the interior pieces nearby. This will passively regenerate health.
  
• You will get a well-rested buff in a comfortable area for some time. This buff lasts longer based on comfort levels and will help against the wet effect.
  
• We adjusted some existing decorations, changing unlock requirements, costs, and looks to accommodate their new functionality.
  
• The cozy furniture looks new and is now made from dark wood. Some of the lightwood furniture is now made of shrivelwood. The basin got a new look and recipe.
  
• We added two new building pieces: the clay Griz Hearth and the Metal Hearth.
  
• We introduced the refueling system for campfires (they can be fueled with twigs).
  
• If a campfire runs out of fuel, it will be destroyed instantly.
  
• Shelter information was added to the Town Page in the F1 Menu.

All the small things!

Next to the big categories, we added a lot of smaller things or worked on different areas of our game to improve your experience:

• Meet Oblivion - You can delete your character by visiting the NPC Oblivion next to the Gate to Coreheim!
  
• You can now double-click on items with a ‘use’ functionality, such as mystery bags and schematics.
  
• I added auto-sorting functionality to the crafting menu, and it now prioritizes craftable items and shows them on top.
  
• Storage Chests will now display the first three slots of the inventory.
  
• Incense Updates! Geo, Wood, and Natural incense will now give EXP in their skill category.
  
• Two new nighttime soundtracks for the Forest & Hills biomes were added.
  
• When you build a JMS station for the first time in a new town, you will start with many resources.
  Only available resources at the current town level will be shown in the overview.
  
• The JMS has different lights and SFX now if you get under a specific amount of Resources to warn the player.
  
• Improvements to the loading of the game.
  
• Performance improvements are due to the game's loading and unloading elements.
  
• When you hide the HUD, you will no longer see the small crosshair.

We fixed the following bugs to help improve the game experience:

• Made the Interaction area of Flax bigger.
  
• Fixed some culling issues with building pieces (this should help improve performance).
  
• Fixed a performance issue that was caused by candles.
  
• Backend stability improvements.
  
• Fixed SFX alert on low Stamina to align with the visual marker.
  
• Fixed a bug that caused players to continue sprinting after death.
  
• Fixed a bug where the white dot in the middle of the screen vanishes.
  
• We fixed a bug that visually caused the stone doorframe to change to a granite doorframe when changing the mesh with shift+scroll.
  
• Changed Darkwood Beams to only use the long variant to avoid stability issues.
  
• Players can’t dodge anymore with a hammer drawn to prevent multiple issues.
  
• Fixed an animation issue that was caused by switching to the hammer.
  
• Fixed an issue with the rotation of the shrivelwood and darkwood sword while stowed.
  
• Added missing icon and recipe for the sword decoy.
  
• Added correct pinning icon of the Stone Wall.
  
• Added correct icon for Simple Wooden bench in pinning and recipe unlock.
  
• Bandits & Griz only attack Nocturnal Oropalas and they fight back.
  
• Fixed a bug that caused creatures to use two different slow effects.
  
• Fixed a bug that caused Corrupted Feydveers to deal damage to everything between them and the town center after spawning sometimes.
  
• Fixed visual issues with the character's hand placement when moving with the sword drawn.
  
• Fixed some visual issues where the feet weren’t on the ground on stairs.
  
• Removed Combat Finisher from the Keybindings.
  
• Target Lock on Hotkey can now be changed.
  
• We added Regular Resin to dark wood Trees so you can build dark wood planks more easily.
  
• Fixed a bug where there were 2 Refined Resin recipes.
  
• Fixed the Recipe for Tier 3 Woodworking station, instead of 2x shrivelwood timber it now needs shrivelwood timber and lightwood timber.
  
• Fixed issue that caused workbenches to still count towards the town if moved out of a town.
  
• Fixed an issue that prevented the player from repairing building pieces that don't belong to any town (planks, campfire).
  
• Made improvements to how building pieces are checked for overlap. Now you should be able to place building pieces like tables next to each other regardless of rotation.
  
• Fixed an issue where the general workbench ignored skill requirements for recipes.
  
• Fixed a bug that caused the level-up town button not to show up sometimes.
  
• Adjusted the visuals of the trading UI to be more in line with other UI.
  
• Fixed UI issue with the Town Management window.
  
• Removed an Item from a mystery pouch that was there on accident.
  
• When another player is using a station you will get a notification now.
  
• We added a notification that makes guests aware that they can’t place blueprints.
  
• Fixed an issue that caused the gathering animation to not be visible to other players.
  
• A Fix related to when a draw happens in a town attack: if you draw now, you lose 10% crystals and 10 wrath.
  
• Fixed certain areas in the map where town attack creatures could spawn inside rocks.
  
• Fixed missing destroy SFX on some of the items.

Sometimes you will get an Error when trying to delete a character, if this happens please just restart the game and try again. If the problem persists please create a ticket.

In rare cases, you will see repair bars instead of the required resources when doing the More Workstations optional quest. If this happens to you, please log back; this will fix it.

If the Tool/Weapon wheel doesn’t show the right weapon you are currently equipped with, please switch the tool with your hotkeys 5,6,7,8; this should bring it into sync again.

• A draw lets the current Wrath goes down by 10, so if you deposit another Crystal an attack will start
  
• Losing a town attack does not cause a deleveling, it will reduce the crystals you put into the town by by 50% and reset the wrath to 0

• We have made 'leveling up' the town a bespoke interaction. This button does not automatically appear in the town menu when you meet the requirements, you will have to close and reopen the town menu.
  
• Darkwood Beams use a smaller variant as default, these don't connect to the ground. You can switch to the large one by Shift+Scrolling
  
• The combat finishers we removed still have an entry in the Keybinds, this key is shared with 'Copy Blueprint'. You can ignore the duplicating keybind warning when you assign a new key to copy blueprint.

We also included a generic 'crafting bench' in yesterday's patch that we forgot to mention in the patch notes. You can now build a crafting bench in your town that can craft any recipe that didn't require a station before. This bench conveniently uses the town resources, useful for those situations where you want to craft large numbers of items at once.

With more and more Coreborn sent out to reclaim the Nations, new towns emerge all over the kingdom of Ambros. Small settlements where some find their forever homes, huge organized camps with clearly mapped out plans and constant expansion going on, and those which are just an outpost for the next steps ahead. Towns stand as centers of activity and collaboration.

The Coreborn gather, build, and trade within these newfound structures, relentlessly pushing boundaries and driving progress further ahead in their grand mission of winning back territory once lost to Sorgoth and his minions.

Roles emerge naturally in this environment. Mayors take ownership and guide their towns with vision and authority, with the Admins as their right hands to support their leadership. They handle daily operations and decision-making and ensure that everything runs according to plan. Members form the backbone of the community, welcome others in, and add to the town's vibrancy and productivity. Even Guests, though their stay is brief, contribute to the town's rhythm when they come and go.

But not only the communities of those extending the territory of the nations grow. As towns expand in size and wealth, new expansion towers rise and mark the Coreborn's claim on the land. With new technology and constant progress, these beacons of hope are more than just structures; they represent progress, unity, and the ambitions of those living within their borders.

But as responsibilities amass, things to consider increase and the demands of maintaining a growing community rise, keeping up might become a struggle. But worry not! Amid this growth, Coreheim has sent their help: Responding to the calls of those Coreborn in need of support, they founded the Jibbling Maintenance System.

Through this collaboration of Coreborn, Coreheim, and diligent Jibblings, your town's charm and functionality can be preserved. If you treat them nicely and pay them in the necessary resources, of course.

And this may very well be needed, since the forces of Sorgoth never rest and have been scheming in the background while you, Coreborn, pushed your own plans further. Corruption has evolved, and its grip on the creatures of Sorgoth has become stronger, putting your towns at even greater risk than before. So grab your sword, gather your members, and fend off the improved town attacks with your new combat skills!

The Settlers' Dawn update embraces this pulsating, ever-changing life and enhances your town's life to fortify the bonds of community and defense.

We've introduced a new system where you can take on different roles within your town! There are four roles: Mayor, Admin, Member, and Guest. Each role has its own set of rights and actions.

• Mayor - Owns the town, has all rights. There can only be one owner / Mayor.
  
• Admin - Functions similarly to Mayor, just doesn’t own the town.
  
• Member - Regular member with the ability to accept guests.
  
• Guest - Has access to limited, non-impactful actions

Depending on your role, you can do different things in the town, like promoting others, adding crystals, or removing people. As an Admin, you have the authority to demote Members or promote Guests. If the Mayor isn't active for a while, the game will automatically promote the most active and highest-ranking Member to be the new Mayor.

We’ve added new Expansion towers that can expand the town’s radius even better and enhanced the overall town expansion experience. No worries! Existing Town expansions remain valid. We highly encourage you to get rid of the old ones and try out the new ones to avoid potential conflicts in the future. Successfully building an expansion tower will expand the town border. The expansion tower will have its own radius, and it will connect to nearby expansion towers and/or the town center, creating a straight connection between the borders.

We're rolling out the new Jibbling Maintenance System - the JMS - so you can make sure your town stays in top-notch shape. The current deterioration system will still stay in place for a while and we're running both systems simultaneously to ensure a smooth transition.

The JMS is like having your own magical maintenance team of Jibblings! We really want your feedback on how it feels compared to the previous deterioration system.

• You can now distribute materials to Jibblings to prevent your town from deteriorating. As your town levels up, you'll unlock access to new materials that you can contribute.
  
• The system now indicates the current duration of protection and the maximum allowable protection based on your town's level.
  
• Next to each material, you'll see the time protection it provides per item contributed. For example (1) Lightwood = 30 mins of protection or (6) Lightwood = 3 hours of protection

We're excited to introduce several enhancements to town building mechanics, aimed at providing a smoother and more intuitive building experience. These adjustments include improved accessibility to blueprints, adjustments to material requirements, and various quality of life improvements to streamline the building process.

• You can now pin recipes for building pieces, making it easier to access your favorite blueprints. This also works for Crafting!
  
• We've lowered the town level required for PBS materials, allowing you to access them sooner:
  
• Lightwood: Level 1 (unchanged)
  
• Stone: Level 1 (previously Level 5)
  
• Shrivelwood: Level 5 (previously Level 10)
  
• Granite: Level 5 (previously Level 15)
  
• Darkwood: Level 10 (previously Level 20)
  
• Metal: Level 10 (previously Level 30)
  
• Some ingredients, like bricks, are now accessible with lower level workstations to accommodate unlocking PBS materials sooner
  
• You can no longer stack defense structure building pieces (e.g., Palisades) on top of each other for improved gameplay balance.
  
• Workstations will now drop down (like storage does) if the foundation is destroyed, ensuring smoother gameplay.
  
• Visual indicators around PBS pieces to help align direction during construction.
  
• New scaling system and the ability to hide your character for improved visibility while building. You are able to scale down (not scale up). Please note that not all building pieces are scalable. Feedback is greatly appreciated!
  
• Moving/Copying keys are now rebound to Q/F for easier use.
  
• Introducing new planks for more building options
  
• Added more snapping points and improved snapping behavior (feedback appreciated)

We have reworked the town gates to increase Town Attack challenges and improve creature spawning. Note: All town gates will have to be replaced, but don’t worry - the maintenance Jibblings are on the case and helping you out by destroying your existing gates!

• You can now have multiple town gates for entry points, with limitations based on distance to the town center and other town gates
  
• Improved spawn behavior for town attacks and creatures
  
• Creatures spawn on multiple gates if present, with a rectangle visual around the gate.
  
• Improved town pathing with fewer messages.

Even in the usually vibrant and ever-thriving nation of Ambros, famous for its boastful Hedonists and the ever-growing crops of golden wheat and fruit, there comes a time of year when everything becomes a little quieter. A time when the buzz of activity gives way to the more peaceful, more serene season of Frostfall.

Crunching steps on fluffed-up snow, glistening flakes entangled in the dense coats of various Dir species, and the grimly snarling Griz, unable to hibernate due to bold Coreborn encroaching on their territory — all these wintry signs both warm our hearts and freeze our fingertips.

Yet, this idyllic stillness is deceptive: While the humanoid inhabitants of Ambros find comfort in their cozy homes during these cold days, the creatures of the land never rest.


For the next three weeks, all the Core Nations will be celebrating the season of Frostfall and the riches it brings, and you, our pioneering Coreborn, are joining them!

In this update, we are introducing a wintry vibe to the Fields and Forests of Ambros. When you hunt, craft, or forage away the cold, you might stumble upon our special seasonal coins, which the new Frostfall vendor in Coreheim can’t wait to take off your hands. In exchange, of course, for candy cane-sweet goodies!

Frostfall-themed PBS schematics and hats are waiting for you to decorate your towns and bring the festive spirit to your community.

And as a little extra, the previous Content Drop 'Bandits of Ambros' has been wrapped up, and we've fixed a few of those pesky bugs, too!
