Really interesting and original game experience! I enjoyed it a lot.

A serial killer game that doesn't quite get the gravitas of what's happening. It's fairly chirpy and breezy for a game where you have to help guide a town through a night where a long dead serial killer suddenly shows up. I like what it's trying to do, but at no point did I feel danger/dread/fear - mostly because the other characters aren't recognizable as capable in their real lives (Why is there a puzzle where you have to convince a police officer to look for keys to a car so they can escape? Why must that be something you need to tell another human being, much less LEO?)

Consider this a reluctant recommendation. "Killer Frequency" is a serviceable game, but I definitely liked the idea more than the execution. You play the host of a radio show who suddenly has to take on the role of a 911 operator, helping out the citizens of a small town survive encounters with a masked killer. Taking on emergency calls on live broadcast is a funny concept, but to be honest I think it deserved to be played straight. Playing up the absurdity is, to me, less preferable then straight-faced deadpan delivery. One thing that particularly frustrated me was the puzzles: the game creates the illusion of time pressure, but also forces you to solve puzzles that drag on for minutes on end. It quickly became obvious that the person waiting on the other end of the line would have wound up dead five times over while I was laboriously going over the reference materials and documentation. A more snappy pace would have worked better, I feel. All in all, "Killer Frenquency" is OK. Not great, but not terrible. If you enjoy the premise, you may give it a try.
