It seems I can't play with a keyboard, and the only controllers I do have with USB support (Pokken & Gamecube for Switch) are incompatible. What kind of controller can I buy that'll work with this game?

I just got my Steam Deck today and wanted to play this to test it out. After the initial cutscene where it seems like the game is about to start, nothing happens and no buttons work. It was still on the default controller layout. I opened the Steam menu and tried to manually select one of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ layouts, but instead the selected layout is just showing as "#Title" no matter which one I try to select, and the button commands are always empty. I can't get back to any actual layout since this happens no...
