Hello Cozy Coven! 🔮✨

We hope you have been enjoying the Magical Creatures update! This update was a labor of love and our way of bringing a final touch more magic to Fairhaven in order to finish Tara's story. From the long awaited lighthouse repair, to a new familiar for Tara, there is no shortage of secrets to uncover.

With that being said, this is our final update for Wylde Flowers. We want to remind the community that this is not a goodbye, but a see you later! We absolutely hope to create more games like Wylde Flowers in the future. In the meantime, we wanted to look back over the past few years and share some of our favorite memories from working on Wylde Flowers, It has been such a special experience to create and share the wonderful, witchy world of Fairhaven with all of you 🌸

When asked to recall some of their favorite memories from working on Wylde Flowers, the Studio Drydock team had no shortage of funny and heartwarming stories to share about the collaborative efforts that went into making the game.

Riley, one of our Environment Artists, shared that “working on Wylde Flowers for me was such an amazing experience; I grew a lot as an artist and had so much fun making cute assets for people to enjoy. It's been really cool seeing people connect with something that the whole team put so much of themselves into ”. Riley also remembered when she was designing the sewing machine for our Violet’s Boutique update, and our Technical Director, Alex, helped by sharing pictures of his mom's incredible collection of vintage looms and sewing machines. These pictures served as references for the final design that ended up in the game!

Here's another sweet moment where Alex added a feature requested by Riley's mom:

Nyasha, one of our Narrative Designers, said one of her favorite memories was sitting in on a voice over recording session for the first time. “It was SO trippy to hear what I wrote, but sound way better because I was watching these crazy talented actors”. She also shared that she loved getting the opportunity to “work with the script of the game, tinker around in Unity, and learn how to put together cutscenes,,,it was the first time I’d get to see my work in the game finally paired voice to visual”.

There were also moments outside of working on the game itself where our team had the opportunity to bond. Wylde Flowers was nominated in a couple of categories, including Best LGBTQ Indie Game and Best LGBTQ Character, at the 2023 Gayming Awards. A few members of our team were able to attend the award ceremony and for some of them, meet in person for the first time! QA team members Alexandra and Laura, as well as Concept Artist Isa and Community Manager Audrey all met up in New York City for the ceremony, and had the honor of accepting the Best LGBTQ Character award on behalf of the studio. We had so much fun exploring the city together, and we even got to meet and hang out with the voice actress for Tara, Valerie Rose Lohmann, who attended the awards ceremony as well.

As you can see, just like Wylde Flowers has helped so many of you create special memories, developing the game has helped all of us make some really wonderful memories too. What is shared here doesn’t even scratch the surface. That’s why we are so excited to take everything we’ve learned from this time and use it to make something new. We know it’s hard to say goodbye, but we will be back with something hopefully just as if not more special than what we’ve made with Wylde Flowers.

We hope to see you at our next venture, but remember that Tara and all of Fairhaven will always be there for you if want to pay them a visit! 💕

Need more details?
- You will meet the new creatures when Marty and Kim respectively visit your farm and ask for your help with strange occurrences happening around Fairhaven. Finish these quests to unlock the creatures that you can interact with in Ravenwood.
- Once the creatures are unlocked, Aryel will have new crafting supplies in his shop that will help with crafting incantations and potions.
- For a magical surprise outfit, unlock the new Lighthouse by visiting Gloria after meeting the mystical creatures and solving a sleepy problem for Peri.
- Visit Peri after healing an injured squirrel for Aryel to meet Ginger, a new corgi familiar you can befriend and adopt. Once adopted, craft a shrinking potion to ride Ginger around town.
- After unlocking Violet’s new boutique and helping Francis reunite with his brother in Year 2, visit Francis again to unlock new, exciting jewelry blueprints you can craft at your Metalworking Table.
- We’ve introduced helix and nose-ring blueprints in Francis’s shop, which can be bought as a “left and right” set but worn separately. Customize your look with your new jewelry or sell individual pieces back to Francis.


We also fixed some bugs and added a few things, including:
- Fixed a rare issue with Greenhouse garden beds not planting seeds properly.
- Fixed “Surprisingly Tasty” not progressing if Jambalaya is discovered as one of Eury’s favorite foods during the quest.
- Fixed a similar but rare issue in “I See You Crystal Clear”. Fish Stew can be given to Shelby any time to allow quest progression.
- Polished the VFX of the cutscenes in the quest “About Time”.
- The quest “You’re a Gem” is now a prerequisite of “No Stone Unturned” so progression isn’t blocked in "No Stone Unturned”.
- Quest cutscenes are now prioritized over friendship and romantic cutscenes, while romantic cutscenes are prioritized over friendship cutscenes.
- Fixed the sort order of characters in the Journal.
- Fixed the sort order and categories of food items in the Journal.
- Juliet no longer blocks Eury’s hairstyling chair after starting “A Job to Dye For”.
- The quest “Fountain Of Youths” can be started any time after Winter in Year 2.
- Prioritized newer and active topics when talking to Grandma Hazel’s grave.
- Fixed some daily banter and routines of characters to prevent spoilers, and to reflect changes in player relationships.
- Fixed an audio issue that kept playing the romantic music after giving a rekindled romantic partner a bouquet of flowers.
- Fixed an issue to prevent the player from landing inside the rocks under the lighthouse when using the broomstick.
- Fixed the Wellspring magic bar that was not updating during an offering when using a controller.
- The snowman that Finn and Emmi build in Winter now correctly disappears in Spring.
- Westly no longer talks about the Autumn when given non-Autumn bouquets.
- The town bulletin board now shows the correct posting for love card quests.
- Cleocatra has even more animations!

• In Summer of Year 2 and after unlocking Violet’s Boutique, you will meet Eury Sinclair after completing “The Mane Event”, and help set up her new hair salon. Craft pommade, conditioner, and various hair colors to sell to Eury or trade them in for new hairstyles.
  
• Once a new hairstyle has been purchased, you can select your style from the inventory menu at any time. If you enjoy the magic of a hair salon visit, you can also change your purchased hairstyle at the salon for no additional charge.
  
• Want to match your eyebrows with your new hair color? You can change eyebrow colors from the inventory menu once you buy your first hairstyle.
  
• Love is in the air! Eury will be able to be taken on many dates as a fully romanceable character.
  
• There are even more opportunities to become closer friends with Gloria and Bruno, who now have 4 stages of friendship.

We also fixed a few bugs and made some adjustments! Including:

• The Bouquet Table recipe will be granted if the quest “If It's Bouquet With You” was previously missed or failed.
  
• Damon now says, “boop!” when he boops you.
  
• Married partners will be more reliable at feeding your chickens and ducks when they offer to help.
  
• Sophia will now only walk down the aisle once at her wedding with Thomas.
  
• Sebastian will no longer try to get your attention from behind the counter in Sophia’s restaurant.
  
• Fixed some incorrect translations in Russian, French, and French Canadian.
  
• Coconuts were added to Shelby’s shop and olives were added to Kai’s stand.
  
• A few of Violet’s outfits are now in their rightful category.
  
• Subtitles using the large font are better positioned during cutscenes.
  
• Fixed a rare issue causing items to stack on top of one another in build mode.
  
• Fixed a rare issue preventing plants from growing in the back row of the large greenhouse.
  
• Marriage proposals to Cameron, Damon, and Amira now depend on the bridge to the mountain being repaired first.
  
• Violet will not turn transparent during a conversation with Lina in the “Witch You Were Here” quest.
  
• The Cloche animation is no longer missing at times of gift giving
  
• Pumpkin Ale is not available until “The Harvest Fest” quest is complete.
  
• Bees will not linger after their beehive is removed.
  
• Fixed a rare issue causing a black screen on iOS and Apple TV after some cutscenes.
  
• Fixed the game controller labels not appearing after the latest Steam Deck software update.
