HEY CRAB FANS - It's been a busy few months for us at Aggro Crab. We're preparing for upcoming events, tackling bugs and cooking on other projects. So let's talk about it! I'm assuming that's why you're here.


just in case you missed it - I can officially confirm that we're working on a NG+. We've been taking notes of your suggestions and are hoping to share the specifics of this update soon. We mainly want to ensure we have it locked down before making any promises - including a release date. BUT IT'S COMING!! NG+ REAL.

That's right. The Crab Shack returns! This year, we'll have demo stations of not only Another Crab's Treasure, but our previous game Going Under and the one published game under our belt... Subway Midnight!

The crab shack is also supplying some merch. Including hoodies, pins and Kril plushies! and maybe more things i kinda forgot we've been popping off with our merch game.

We know you love that little guy - While we'll have Kril plushies at PAX WEST, we do plan to restock him on LAZYDEVS[www.lazydevs.world] later this year too. For now just pretend he's on holiday or something. Hot Crab Summer.

Bug fixes and general stability across all platforms are still ongoing. We're actively checking bug reports on Steam and through our Discord[discord.com]. Discord is the better option for us so we can request more details and follow up with players, but we're checking both!

tHanKs fOr AsKinG - We're doing pretty well! The team is starting to lock in more on GAME 3. It's the next game on our plate that we can't really share anything about for a while. • Fixed a BUNCH of missing NPCs that were supposed to be in the game!!! (especially in late game areas) (Thank you @soomoto on Discord for the help on this!!)
  
• Fixed a bug where status buildup could be reduced below 0 by equipping Stowaways totaling greater than 100% status resistance.
  
• Fixed an issue where certain world-space text (such as Affliction triggers) could fail to display in languages besides English
  
• Fixed an issue where Firth's bubble bullet claw model would stay active if you Wave Breaker him at the right moment
  
• Found a potential fix for Seahorse projectiles being considered a safe platform on which to respawn

PATCH V1.0.103.3 HAS BEEN PUSHED TO STEAM!

Most important change: we caved to audience pressure and you can scroll around on the Location tab now! View all the pretty art! Go nuts!


⦁ You can now move and zoom the map on the Location menu. Look at all the pretty art, go nuts!!!

⦁ Fixed multiple SFX and voice lines in Voltai's fight being played silently
⦁ Fixed multiple instances of NPCs persisting in a spot after having moved on in the story
⦁ Improvements to camera collision, especially when using Dispatch
⦁ Removed some fun visuals from the Felix Cube, as it would occasionally cause weird player physics interactions. Sad.
⦁ You can no longer use Self Repair to restore Shell Health reduced from self-inflicted damage such as Munch and Twinkle.
⦁ Removed access to Assist Settings from Title, as assist settings are saved specifically to individual save files.
⦁ Game can no longer be paused during the credits (esc key will skip them normally). This eliminates a bug where killing Kril via the pause menu during the credits could result in weird behavior.

⦁ Improved the save backup system, increasing the scenarios in which it'll replace an unusable file with a backup if available.
⦁ Eliminated a very rare scenario where a save file could show up as corrupt in the main menu despite being technically playable.

⦁ Fixed a ghost hitbox on a colossal late-game boss.

⦁ Small geometry updates to Expired Grove, Unfathom, and Bleached City
⦁ Fix geometry in Scuttleport that could lead to the player getting stuck
⦁ Fixed a content skip in Expired Grove that was a little too easy (don't believe it was useful for speedrunners, don't kill us!)

HELLO WHALE AND DOLPHIN ENJOYERS

So we've talked a big game on why Polluting the Ocean = Bad, and now its time for us to put our money where our mouth is. We are excited to announce that we are doing a charity sale with WDC (Whale and Dolphin Conservation) for World Ocean Day!

It's important we share details on the efforts we support, so here's some more details on what WDC gets up to:

WDC, Whale and Dolphin conservation is the leading global charity dedicated to the protection and conservation of whales and dolphins.

Their expert-led teams in the UK, Europe, the Americas, and Australasia work across the whole spectrum of threats, from climate breakdown to accidental entanglements in fishing gear. They bring together, and work hand-in-hand with, businesses, philanthropists, scientists, NGOs, governments and grassroots communities to find solutions to the problems faced by whales and dolphins.
Their aim is to reverse the global decline in whale and dolphin populations by creating safe seas for these majestic creatures.

Entanglement in fishing gear, or ‘bycatch’ as it’s known, is the biggest threat whales and dolphins face. Many hundreds of thousands die in nets or get tangled up in fishing gear every year. As air-breathing mammals like us, when they get trapped in a net, panic can take over and they can sustain terrible injuries before either escaping, or suffocating. It is a massive problem and so WDC are working on some innovative solutions. 

WDC have been working across the globe to protect whales, dolphins and porpoises from dying in fishing gear:

They’re collaborating with creel fishers in Scotland to trial new types of fishing gear to reduce entanglements of humpback and minke whales.

They’re working with colleagues and partner organizations in the Central Baltic Sea to develop a recovery plan for a critically endangered group of Baltic harbor porpoises.

On the west coast of the United States, critically endangered North Atlantic right whales are facing extinction. Entanglement is a massive threat to their survival, and WDC have been working with fishers to trial alternative gear types.

In Hong Kong WDC have been supporting local community efforts and working with fishers to save the remaining 200 Indo-Pacific finless porpoises from extinction due to bycatch.

These projects are saving lives, and they are powered by inspiring people working together for the ocean.

By purchasing games from this year’s World Ocean Day sale, you will help WDC continue these vital conservation projects across the globe, as well as enable WDC’s team to embark on new efforts to bring further protections for whales and dolphins, like the Sri Lankan gillnet fisheries project:

Sri Lanka is home to many species of whales, dolphins and porpoises as well as a myriad of other sensitive marine species like sea turtles that are vulnerable to entanglement in gillnets – these are nets that hang in the water like a wall. With funding, WDC hopes to collaborate with Sri Lankan artisanal tuna fisheries that use gillnets to trial new gear types and reduce the impact their fishing has on marine life, while still enabling them to earn their living.

Whales and dolphins are awe-inspiring. They are intelligent beings, vital for the health of the ocean and planet. Together we can still help them recover and flourish and they can help us reconnect with the wild, and repair the damage we have caused.

If you missed the last steam post, the team took a week off to rest! We really appreciate everyone's understanding about us taking a break. MAN we needed it. It was heart-warming to leave with so many people telling us to have a good sleep.

We focused on self-care and reminded each other that devs should be looking after themselves. (For those claiming we need a bigger break - don't worry! The team has plans to take their own individual time off over the next few months too! We're holding them by gunpoint to take more breaks!) - Once again, thank you all for being so kind and caring for not only our crab game, but our teams well-being too.

Now that we're back, we're jumping back into our top priority for these next few months. Those things are...


There's no official date for when specific fixes are out, but we're working our shells off to do what we can! Trust that they will be on a more regular schedule though.

It's basically been a whole month since we launched Another Crabs Treasure. That's shucking crazy dude. We have received such an overwhelmingly amount of support and love for the game and we can't thank you all enough.

We've been working our butts off on bug fixes since we launched, as well as some quality of life updates based off your feedback - and there's still more to come! There's even an update today that just came out to will help with save file back ups.


Ok first off - next week our studio will be offline for the week! That means no patches or activity from us cause we're SLEEPIN BABEY!!! We have been taking it slower as the weeks go but we also need to force the team to touch kelp and eat moss outside for at least a week before we can come back with a fresh head to get back into it.

Got a fresh new patch for you!

Most important thing here is some save file safety fixes! We'll occasionally get reports of save files being corrupted for one reason or another. Some of these we're working to fix, and others are much less preventable, due to hardware crashes and such. So we figured a good place to start is to add a backup system.

If you ever need to access your backup file for some reason, it can be found in the same folder as your save file - but the game should load it automatically if something goes wrong with your main save.

GENERAL

• :GoOver: Added a save backup system that should help stem the tide (haha) of people losing progress due to save corruption. Ideally in a worst case scenario, folks will only lose one save point's worth of progress instead of ruining their entire file.
  
• :GoOver: Fixed an issue where having no readable files in your save list would show "new game" button even if some of them existed, but were corrupt

COMBAT

• Fixed an issue where a certain colossal lategame enemy would not release you from a grab properly
  
• You can now always use Spearfishing on said colossal enemy. It used to be only when they were in a specific animation, but this was unclear to players.
  
• Fixed an issue where your hammer could attack as if it was the standard fork after a cutscene.
  
• Fixed an issue where enemies could hit your dropped shell to hurt you. This was especially prevalent in the final boss fight.

LEVEL FIXES

• Improved collision in Roland's arena for clipping issues
  
• Improved collision in the endgame sequence
