Already 100% the game (Achivements)

super fun, i combines element from plat form fighters and rouge lites very well.

I'm so glad my nephew nabbed this one for me off my wishlist for the holidays. 17 hours in and I finally got through the story, but I'm also only halfway through the achievements. It's a delight to play. It feels great whether on controller or keyboard & mouse. The story is cute, the art is cute, the scaling of the difficulty is clever as all hell and left me itching for another run every time I died. Without spoilering anything the areas that play differently than the standard or boss levels also feel fresh to death. The availability of roguelite perma-progression/unlocks mixed with the huge variety for your build each run leaves even a vanilla run feeling spicy and fresh.

On that note, the whole system feels fresh and great to use. Spirit Blessings give you modifiers, both active and passive, to your core abilities and things that affect your playstyle. I've found myself switching up entire runs when I see certain choices, in a GOOD way, just because certain abilities become so much fun to use. Having other types of add-ons just adds to the variety of a build. Everything feels fresh AND familiar, like I was able to just pick up the game and run with it asap with minimal explanation, which I consider a perfect balance to the immersion of a game.

Gentle Giant hit it out of the park with this one. I expect it to remain in my repertoire for quite a while, and to come back to it time and time again. It's not just the replayability of a roguelite, but how GOOD and smooth this one feels to play. Thank you Gentle Giant for an amazing experience. Now I have to go make myself a Zalvoon plush, he's too cute!
