It wears its inspirations from Half Life and STALKER very well. The arsenal is fun to play with, as is the gravity arm. Exploration is fun. The storytelling is, well, subtle, and while you're likely to drop a flat "huh?" when the campaign is over, the fantastic Zone Patrol mode gives you the tools and terrain to unwind the story, bit by bit. There's more going on than it lets on, and this manner of putting the plot together by your own hands after it's already happened is really super novel to me.

Well, you can also just play Zone Patrol first, or bounce between the two. It's still largely on you to work it out. Hell, you might not even get the answers you're looking for- and that's one of the game's centermost themes! There's no achievements to chase or challenges to do, so you can really just focus on enjoying yourself, and I appreciate that.

Go play it, make some Rent-A-Combine guys ♥♥♥♥ their pants, get eaten by some unspeakable antlered thing, have a couple real good 'what the FRICKs'.

The combo of the campaign and zone patrol make this game more than worth the price as the gameplay and mechanics are a blast.

The story can be hit or miss for some, but it succeeded at it's storyline and keeping the world weird. Many unanswered questions, but none that ruined the experience for me at all.

A really top-tier half-like with a fun Stalker mode added on. A great experience. Well worth the money.
