The game is Risk of Rain 2 but less polish and generally boring gameplay. It looks like Risk of Rain 2, with similar GUI and art style and it plays like Risk of Rain 2 with the items you spend coins on to collect from chests and different survivors with different abilities. Here are the differences:

• Each survivor only has one (or two if you count the movement ability) ability and an ultimate you need to recharge, similar to Overwatch or *insert hero shooter*. Said movement ability can be used pretty frequently with an energy meter. There is also a dodge that uses this meter. There are four survivors in the game. Due to the lacking abilities, customization, and general personality of each survivor, they can all feel pretty samey.
  
  
• Instead of unique shooting mechanics per survivor, you have different guns you choose between, with two firing modes and a meter to charge up. This is pretty cool but unfortunately the damage these guns do is lacking compared to the on cooldown abilities of the survivors, making the enemies feel like bullet sponges right from the first second.
  
  
• You still collect items around the map from these windmil things, though the description for many of the items is very much lacking. They are also sometimes untrue (or some items are bugged or how they actually work is, like mentioned, not explained well). You also get a choice when you loot these, making becoming powerful generally easier than Risk of Rain 2.
  
  
• The biggest draw to the game for me was the flying and, yeah, it can be pretty fun. Shame you can't really do anything during you movement ability, such as shooting. There are certain items that can boost its effectiveness, such as one that added a groundpound to the first survivior's flight which was pretty useless due to the lack of damage (this is a theme) and animation lock, but still a cool idea.
  
  
• Instead of finding a teleporter and fighting inside the bubble every map, you need to find three of them. Though they will hint at the new location when you beat one and you can spot them from afar due to VFX, finding all three of them per map is by far the most boring part of the game. It gets old quick. Once you've got all three, you need to run (or fly) to yet another thing to actually teleport.
  
  
• Instead of a boss spawning at the teleporter, you are transported to a boss fight room where you have a very clunky looking boss (animations are meh) and your abilities are disabled making the boss's already ridiculous HP pool even higher (was just patched). Oh and laser enemies shoot at you and don't worry, they have way too much HP, too. This was where I decided I was good, after fighting the boss for a few minutes and getting him to like 60% HP. I will say I hear that the other bosses get better but I personally only experienced the first one, which feels like Risk of Rain 2's Mithrix (has a hammer and everything) but clunky and bad.
  
  
• From what I've seen there is very little map variety, with the same maps showing up in order every run and the maps are pretty large and generally have a good bit of verticality, as it is built around the flight stuff. Though that makes it more annoying to find the transporters.
  
  
• Enemy AI can be a bit scuffed sometimes with them kinda just standing there sometimes if you aren't looking at them. Most of the enemies are relatively easy to deal with by simply kiting them, which is fine but it makes the dodge feel kind of useless unless right in the thick of it. More aggressive AI could potentially solve that problem.

The game might have promise with some more time but I personally found it to be inferior to games like Risk of Rain 2 in pretty much every way. It might not be a fair comparison, but they are still asking for your money. Please note that I only played one run of the game before deciding to refund, though I did feel like this was enough to experience the general clunky and unintuitive nature of the game.

I feel bad giving the thumbs down to a project made by such a small team, but other small teams (such as the Risk of Rain 2's team of three) have managed to make amazing things. Hopefully this encourages the team to continue working on the game instead of the opposite. I'd love to change my opinion in the future.

A Roguelike game with 2 bosses?!?!? WTF is this BS, the fact that this game is not marked as early access is criminal, after the second boss the game completely falls apart, they keep reusing the same bosses over and over and over again first as normal enemies, then the 3rd boss fight is just fighting the same 2 bosses again, then the 4th boss fight is just the same 2 bosses again with an annoying ghost mechanic and then the final boss is just a wall that moves from left to right that it's impossible to hit with melee attacks (1 of the 4 classes is a melee class) ??????

They give you super cool movement abilities and then made stages (2 and 5) have mechanics that prevent you from using those abilities???? and let's not talk about the mosquito enemies that disable not just your movement abilities but 80% of your kit????

Finally none of the devs or testers played this game in single player, you get so many upgrades, so much money, so much everything that every single build (if you can call it a build) will always end up being the same because you get all the upgrades by the 3rd/4th stage, at that point it doesn't matter what class you are playing, what gun you are using, it's all the same just an orgy of missiles and electric balls flying everywhere with 0 challenge whatsoever, you don't need to aim or dodge anything anymore

I'm baffled at how they ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up this game so bad

Obviously I haven't spent a lot of time with the game, but I can't really give it much more time. I am a sound designer and this games music and sound effects stood out immediately as very grating and ear piercing. So much of the games sound is at very high frequencies.

As an example, theres two guns to start with. The second one I shot for all of 5 seconds before determining that I genuinely could not endure it's sound through a play through. As I got into the level, I was enjoying the bits of movement, the environment, but SO MANY SOUNDS are at dog whistle level. I recorded some gameplay to monitor it, and sounds like healing, enemies spawning, abilities being ready, enemies firing, they are all above 10kHz. I invite you to go to an online tone generator, set it to 10k, and see how long you can handle that frequency. Now consider the fact that several sounds actually play at 14k-16k very frequently. Personally, I couldn't do it, the sound actually has pushed me away from the game.

To add onto the harsh frequencies that frequent the gameplay, the music leaves a lot to be desired. It starts off with a drone tone that basically covers the entire frequency range with an organ and some choirs. It sounds like an old sci-fi menu music track that just kinda goes on forever while you play and even when pianos and drums start to come in it just feels like the score is bored. The vibe does not match the settings and it kinda kills the enjoyment, but again I'm a little hyper focused on sound so that could just be me.

I enjoyed waht little bit I experienced of the gameplay, flying was nice, the jump and doge were nice, the gunplay was ok. Unfortunatley, again, the sound is keeping me from giving the game anymore time.
