From the way that its cutscenes are narrated through a still of concept arts tells you enough about the possible shoe-string budget this entire project was put together from, and yet despite that, it has some fun to be had. The shooting can be a mixed bag sometimes, but most of it plays pretty well, as long as you don't go into the ionsight view because then things get shakey. The enemies are cool (outside of those pixie thingies) and I liked some of its attempts at worldbuilding.

Maybe with age I have gone soft on things, but Legendary like Exodus from earth, is the video game equivalent of a B grade film. Neither the writing nor gameplay is winning any awards anytime soon, but it won't bore you either. So yeah, if you want two or three days to kill on a small first person shooter campaign, then this is a fine enough choice. Won't blow you away, but won't bore you either.

I spent about one and a half hours on this so far. And considering most people are saying it's a six-hour (about) experience, I'd say I've seen enough to form an opinion. I remember wanting to play this before it came out, but when it ended up launching with mixed reviews I was suddenly not in a hurry to play it anymore. Playing it now, I think it's a good thing I skipped it back then. Though I will say it is not AS bad as people say it is. It's just very basic, fulfilling every early 2000's shooter trope you can imagine. I do love the setting and ideas they have going for it still. I just wish more effort was put in to have the whole thing come together as a whole. The game is full of jank. The weapon handling isn't very fun, the weapons also don't really have much of an "oomph" to them. The feedback from weapons and enemies (impact/flinching) is also quite terrible. Aiming down sights is a MISTAKE, unless you want to intentionally feel sick. But the presentation and corny voice-work does kinda keep me going, it's fun. There's also some REALLY cool set pieces, like fighting a giant golem on a demolished Times Square. It's enough to have my curiosity peaked, and to see this through until the end, see what other enemies and events the game throws at me.
