funny bird brain cooking game

It's a pretty chill, story driven menuing game. I didn't understand the appeal until I played a bit of it. If you're looking for a challenging game, this ain't it. There's certain things that could use some quality of life adjustments but overall it's enjoyable to play. There are also rare occurrences of bad english translation (or no translation at all for one item I saw in the shop).

The game has a lot of story and it kind of expects you to know the lore of touhou to understand some details in conversations. I have a vague idea of some touhou lore and I still felt lost at some points of discussion.

The cooking segment of the game is enjoyable, tho some people might get bored of having to constantly look up recipes and tags when serving rare guests. It doesn't help that the tags aren't in alphabetical order in the filtering menu either. So it mostly comes down to memorisation from repetition. There's really no stress on time when it comes to preparing dishes as customers are very patient before leaving and time freezes whenever you're in a menu.

I'm currently playing with no dlc or cameo customers, as I feel that there's already a lot going on and I don't need more things to remember.

It's quite enjoyable for about first 10-20 hours and then it becomes very repetitive without any new mechanics to freshen things up. The game itself is very long and very slow paced (probably going to take around 40 hours to complete the main story) so the boredom kicks in really hard when you have to do the same thing over and over again for a very long period of time. Maybe adding something you can do besides collecting materials and talking to NPCs would help? idk

For 5-6 dollars base game, the graphic is very cute, and the core gameplay where you can cook a custom dish to satisfy a rare guest is quite enjoyable. But considering how slow paced and repetitive this game is, probably just not my cup of tea.
