The closest you'll get to a FromSoftware game as of right now, despite how good Elden Ring is, if the open world didn't quite do it for you Lies of P is a much more linear experience. Insane quality on animations, combat feel, and enemy design to be found here. Some of the most fun boss fights I've encountered in a while. Combat has a great balance between dodging and parry-based gameplay as well.

It takes real talent to make a game this good regardless of taking a lot of its cues from Fromsoft; many have tried before and not reached these heights.

at review time i played like an hour, i can say that when i bought it first time i was like 80% i will ask for refund but in unexpected way i fall in love with this. 10/10

Most people say it's like a Bloodborne X Sekiro lovechild but it really doesn't do it justice. The game is a masterpiece fr. From story to combat to everything else. Wtf are you reading anymore for? Buy it now.

It doesn't reach FromSoftware level of difficulty until the final zone, otherwise everything leading up to it isn't as challenging as I'd want it to be. The story is actually possible to follow along to and the combat is solid. I do wish it played into the weapon durability mechanic more, as it wasn't ever an issue in any scenario and was just something to do between fights every once and awhile.

I will say this game has the best Gank Boss I've ever faced in a Souls-like, great job with that.

I would definitely recommend this game, because I am a huge fan of Souls-like games. I really love how they took the Pinocchio story & gave it that Dark Fantasy/Steam Punk Twist. I also love the weapons & I really haven't gotten around to customizing your own weapons. The only complaint that I have is that the Major Boss battles are ridiculous unless you summon a specter. I try to at least give each boss a couple hours of grinding before finally throwing in the towel, so that I can move on to the next area. But Hey, maybe I'm wrong & maybe I just need to "Get Gud, Scrub." Overall I really do love this game

The first 90% of this game is outstanding. I loved this game up until the last 3 bosses where I feel the devs got a bit lazy with the fight designs. The puppet king was one of the toughest fights in the game, and I feel they copy and pasted the idea for the last 3 bosses just for difficulty's sake. All 3 of the fights have the same start for phase 1 where the bosses have slow, but heavy attacks which make the first phase very enjoyable after learning the attack patterns. The second phase then picks up with an entirely new moveset with moves that are so fast it's incredibly difficult to time them, on top of being spammed non-stop to the point where it's difficult to get hits in.
I enjoy the difficulty of soulsborne and souls-like games, but the repetition of the same style of boss fight over and over while in the end game gets extremely tiring and annoying.

Other than those 3 fights, peak game. Would recommend if you're a souls enjoyer.
