Interesting gameworld.
Satisfying gameplay.
Almost everything is accessible from the beginning, but you're too weak to engage with much of it. As you level up and get better gear, more possibilities open up. None of the enemies level up with you, which gives you a satisfying feeling of power as you stomp the enemies that gave you trouble in the beginning, and can tangle with enemies that seemed impossible at the start.

Great value for an open-world RPG! Drova: Foreskin is rich in detail, few roadblocks will hinder exploration but it definitely feels like 90% of the map is accessible from the start. The world-building is intriguing, filled with vague puzzles and fun quests. It has great pixel animation with atmospheric sound design, exploring caves can be eerily immersive. While the map functions like a literal plain map.

I played primarily before the Insane patch (pre-1.2.3.), where slain enemies appeared to be in a peaceful slumber. While it didn’t break immersion, the post-patch updates improved their sprites to look more decayed. Small enhancements like this just shows quality.

I will definitely dive back in once they released a major patch or a Game of the Year Edition.

As Drivanius said, Bygone’s history is another story, hopefully it’s a tease from Just2D. 🙂

Fantastic game, just buy it. If this looks a bit like your thing, just get it.. its great.

gothic I in another setting with gameboy graphics, an interesting mana mechanic and actually fun boss fights

A worthy successor to Gothic series. Highly recommended.

There is clearly a lot of love put into this game and I like the story and setup of the game. However, the just doesn’t respect your time and is difficult for the sake of difficulty—not because there’s an interesting combat system to master. The actual writing is also not great which makes it difficult to want to keep coming back to.

Will be on the lookout for the next game from these developers though!

I wish there were more games like this. As soon as I finished I tried to find games that were similar but the only 1s that I could find were Gothic & maybe Elex? Gothic is far too outdated for my tastes so I'll have to wait for the remake to finish.
