It's a good game. Control scheme is a bit dated and takes a little getting used to but you break it in quickly. The graphics are not good but it grows on you as well. It's about as pretty as an upscaled 3DS game can get. Still looks a million times better than Stardew Valley lol. I definitely do not recommend this game at full price though. Wait for a sale if you haven't played this yet and it will tide you over just fine while we await Rune Factory 6 and the other Rune Factory spin-off that's in the works. The story is mid but the farming, dating and combat is solid. There are some translation mistakes like me marrying a woman but Keil telling me that he hopes my "husband is doing well"....yeah pretty disrespectful sh*t. I always knew something was wrong with that kid. Either that or there's something my wife ain't telling me.

There are new modes added to this version but honestly they're utterly forgettable compared to the main campaign. It's a good thing they're not sold separately with an additional cost. Coming down to the very, very end, there's a difficulty spike that's simply nonsensical. I'm an RPG grinder and let me just say, this can't be anything other than bad game design. There is absolutely nothing that prepares you for this and it's an integral part of the story. I can see a lot of people reaching that point and straight up ignoring the rest of the campaign and just continuing to explore the other parts of the game. Personally, I don't think I have it in me. I've a huge backlog and I've had my fill again of RF for the moment so I'm gonna play something else and buy RF3S if RF6 takes too long to drop.
