Want to know more about the colorful characters of Wander Stars? Across the next few months, we’ll give you the rundown on each of the game’s main cast, beginning with our protagonist, Ringo!

A young martial artist, Ringo’s life-long dream is to become the champion of the Kiai Tournament, a sport where combatants transform words into powerful attacks. She lives with Anzu, her kiai master and reliable caretaker.

While running errands, Ringo meets a mysterious loner named Wolfe. After a rocky introduction, the pair uncover a piece of the Wanderstar map, a relic that Ringo believes will help in finding her missing brother, Nashi. 🗺️

Game Devs of Color is back for 2024 and we're pleased to announce that Wander Stars is participating!

Paper Castle Games, the Venezuelan-born team behind Wander Stars, are excited to feature in their first Game Devs of Color Expo. Their upcoming anime turn-based RPG, Wander Stars, is inspired by 90’s anime and Saturday morning cartoons. Featuring an incredibly deep combat system and a wonderful cast of characters, Wander Stars will have youevery player seeking to become a Kiai master!

Wander Stars was recently announced to be launching in 2025, but in the meantime, you can try the playable demo!

Hi, first of all i have to say that i absolutely love the art style and the combat design. I love the idea of shouting your moves and the words change the power and effect of the moves, it's genius. With that being said, there are quite a few bugs i encountered. There are a lot of UI issues of information not being shown correctly or at all when hovering over the enemy for example. Playing the game with a controller is extremely bad right now. Nothing works properply, like just moving through a menu does...

Great demo - some feedback regarding UI

Hey there! Enjoyed the demo and looking forward to the final product. One of my biggest gripe with the game would be the UI. It often behaves unreliable, especially when it comes to mouse overs, infos (not) being should or even resulting flickering. I also encountered the equip menu randomly not allowing me to equip words although there are free slots. When there are scrollable lists the mousewheel often does nothing, as it seems to only work on specific elements. I also can't figure out how to grab the s...

Will there be voice acting for the moves?

I feel like if you are making a game about shouting out your attacks, the characters should actually shout out their attacks. I get not voice acting all the dialog, but no dialog for Super Extra Fire Kick seems like a big mistake.

Here goes my feedback

First of all, I love the anime art style, the characters, music, writing and the persona 5 inspiration. All that made me play the whole demo, wishlist and look forward to buying it when it releases. I was hesitant to write, cause I don’t want these to look like complaints, I really thank you for making this game!
