I recommend this game with a "but," and that "but" is that while I recommend this game, it's better to get it when it's on sale for reasons I will list later.

Things I love about the game;
- It's a weekly gift system, I enjoy that cause I'm terrible at giving gifts every day.
- They display when the friendship level goes up, for my visual havin' self that's great.
- You can form deeper bonds beyond just a regular town NPC and MC, the people have depth and scars, they have things they don't want people to know. Everything isn't always sunshine and I love that realism.
- Gathering items multiple times has a reward system that can benefit you.
- Almost every single item in the game has some use in some way. (My pack rat is vibrating.)
- Fortune telling, weather spells, rituals to help with your farm, tailsmens to help in various areas.

Ok now, Things I don't love;

- The freaking bugnet; Seriously this thing is FRUSTRATING. If I had to describe it without colorful words; "You spin me right round nightmare mode except there's nothing fun about it." - I swing up, miss, I swing down, miss, I swing as they're leaving, miss, I swing as they come towards me, miss!!!!!!!! Thankfully I haven't died from the bites from the bugs but man, please fix it or make the area bigger. Anything please.

- The fact that we can't farm with the Dree and the Hares is offensive and no one can change my mind. Dree can be like cows, yes they're dumb, but they're OUR dumb bois. As for the hares, I just really like bunnies.

- I'm upset that our familiar is BARELY around. A familiar is another extension of the witch, but we barely see them around the house.

- There's glitches that while they aren't game breaking, they are noticeable. / The clothes don't seem like they were given weights with the idea of her running in mind. Only standing idle. / The scorpions and the cuflows need their animations worked on BADLY. I don't own skating Cuflows, and scorpions need to move all their legs, not just skate across the dessert.

- There's not a whole lot of furniture that makes your home feel witchy. The bed choices in particular.

For those who skimmed the TL;DR version: Get the game but wait till it's on sale.

A very fun game and getting better with every update, in the beginning there were a few nasty bugs but they are getting much less. There are always different things to do and quests to progress in. I really enjoy playing :)

Let me be positive first: the game has good bones. The environment is interesting, the regional and seasonal plants make for fun variety, There's plenty enough to do, between rebuilding your witches' manor, crafting potions and spells, forging, farming, essences, livestock etc. And this is where the problem comes in.

The quest structure is extremely poor. And I mean VERY poor. Quests are supposed to guide you towards the gameplay mechanics, which in this case should make for plenty of questing, but they don't. You're going to experience something very puzzling early on, which is suddenly realising that your Main Quest bar is empty, because the MQs aren't a stream, they're broken up and incoherent, and the story they tell becomes hollow and meaningless as well, because it's so inconsistent. Yes, the NPCs are pretty bland, but I can live with that if there's a decent flow in the story and the quests, but there just isn't...

Worse still, this means that there's no help or hints when it comes to the game mechanics. You get a quest for the cauldron and the crystal ball, but beyond that you are on your own. You can pick up a few cans of pain in the very first tutorial, which you actually can use to paint your walls, but the game doesn't tell you this. You can probably guess that there's supposed to be a forge and a recycler in game, based on your ability to mine and the fact that you pick up loads of trash when cleaning your living space, but the game doesn't tell you where to get the blueprints for them, or how to build or use them. You are on your own. The same thing goes for really important game mechanics that are unique to this game, like the essence extractor, which, judging by the simple ingredients involved in making it, is meant to be built very early in the game - but again, the game doesn't even tell you that it exists. Worse still, you get NO hints as to where to pick up your next quests. You either have to wander around and hope for the best, or google. I love that little black cat, but it sure isn't very helpful.

This is made worse still by the fact that many side quests and main quests, even very early on, require things like essences and seasonal plants from summer, fall and even winter to make, meaning you'll be stuck early on with quests that you have to complete in order to move along the story, but can't complete because you're not in the right season (I got the broom quest in spring, and it requires fall plants), or because you don't know how to get the other ingredients (such as essences).

I want to like this game, I really do. It has all the bits and bobs that I usually love in a cozy game, but because it never bothers to show you any of this, and the quest structure is totally un-intuitive, it ends up disjointed and disappointing, with all its good mechanics hidden from the player, and yet the distinct gnawing feeling that there's something there that you just can't get to.

Also, much of the English text feels like it was done by someone who isn't fluent, or perhaps even by Google translate. It is borderline unintelligible sometimes.

All in all: the game has promise, but as it is right now, it seems intent on the player never actually getting to access to enjoy it.
