The game has a lot of fun aspects, but it also has a lot of frustrating gameplay features that makes it incredibly tedious.

I highly recommend downloading quality of life mods. Being able to see the enemies actual stats made me realize how much to train, and which enemies I can take on. Being able to see what drops in collection nodes allows me to better collect materials I need for upgrades. Mods also allows you collect materials in one click, instead of clicking over and over while waiting for your character to finish their collecting animations each time.

The game became more fun after I got a lot of the annoying aspects out of the way. Recruiting NPCs and watching your city grow feels great. Seeing your digimon digivolve always feels exciting, especially when you unlock the NPC that makes it easier to choose which digivolution you want. Going through the main story with the colorful cast of characters is also fun. It's basically a tamagotchi rpg game you play here and there.

The long awaited sequel to the PS1 game Digimon World that has some of the same mechanics as the first game where like the long forgotten tamagotchi toys of the 90s where you have to train them, take them to the bathroom, and feed your companion. But with a slight new twist compared to the first version in which there's 2 companions to take care of.

Story: You are a teenager dragged into the Digimon world under mysterious circumstance to save the Digi-World. Where you'll meet other people who were also dragged into here and many digimon, some willing to come help you and others fight against you. It's very bog standard story that's pretty vapid. You got all the generic tropes where all the protagonists and antagonist knew each other in the real world. Friendship and all that stuff. It's connected to the first Digimon World game but overall if you are looking for a deep engaging plot, this isn't it.

Gameplay: There has been improvements in the battle system compared to the PS1 version but also some significant downsides. The two companions seems like a great idea with newer digimon games adding dna evolution and having them work together to chain combos but with the limited camera distance when your companions hit champion the screen is mostly blocked by your companions backsides standing side by side to you. Also because they evolve and die at different times your companions work on different timers which just gets very annoying. I feel like the game would of been better if it focused on 1 companion.

Art/Graphics: Simply put, this game is ugly, the world map is devoid of detail and many areas are just flat textures, with severe lack of any forethought in areas. Character Design is very uninteresting with the male PC having the widest hips i'v seen. It baffles me how ugly some of the designs and areas are. I wouldn't be surprised if the digimon themselves are just 3d models reused from other games like Cyber Sleuth.

Overall this game is plagued by bad decision after bad decision. It's a shame that this game is so bad because the roots of it is something that could really be something fun and unique in creature collector but this is probably the worse DIgimon World game i'v ever played.

TL:DR Version: A experience not the worth the asking price, Avoid this and check out something else.

I know what you're thinking... how could you get off to a game like this? Well, I've got news for you. I did. I fully recommend anyone try and not get off to this nostalgia filled romp with your digipals. You're gonna get off in the digital world. You're gonna get off in the real world. It's seriously hot.

game is good, i love digimon games :)

i recommend installing mods for it though if you don't want to have to deal with the unnecessary padding of your digimons constantly dying and you having to spend multiple in game days just to train them back up to mega

i recommend these mods:
- dwno helper (so you know when your digimon will die)
- battle stats multiplier (to multiply battle stat gain and training stat gain)

these 2 are the best for speeding up your playthrough. i've already finished the game on ps4 a few years ago and only just recently decided to finish it on pc as well :)
