As others have stated, if you have not played the board game version of this, you will be completely lost. I'm an avid fan of this board game, knowing most of the rules, but when I first got in here, I was having trouble figuring out what was going on.

Once you get a feel for the UI though, I love this game. My favorite board game has some AI I can play against when my friends aren't around. Love it.

Caution: For existing players only. If you haven't played the board game, it's a very bad idea for you to try and pick this up. The "tutorial" videos are laughable and there's no real tutorial in-game.

Existing Players: words of warning. First off, this game crashes/freezes/stalls out. A LOT. Expect to be closing the application and restarting it at least 3-4 times each time you play with another human being. Next up, if you're not averaging 130 victory points or higher on average, prepare to lose every game. Even with "easy" bots (which aren't available in multiplayer for some inexplicable reason) they're going to average around 110-120 VP each game. The standard multiplayer bots are going to routinely score 150-180+ VP per game. I.e. this is NOT an easy game. The bots absolutely will min-max everything and play perfectly on every turn of every round.

Other info: Besides the constant freezing and crashes, the UI itself is very poorly designed and ill explained. As a video game, there's very little animation happening. The sound, specifically the volume level, is meant for deaf people. I.e. it'll blow your ear drums the first time you start it up, and it's loud even on the lowest setting.

Conclusion: In all honesty, this product is NOT worth the $25 they're asking for it, not by a long shot. I like the idea of it, but the execution is so poorly. There was no obvious quality control at all, no testing from the looks of it, and... man, it's just bad. IF you see this on sale for 1/2 off, and you go into it knowing about the crap UI, the deafening volume, and the constant crashes... then yeah, it might be worth your $10-12 just to have it. Maybe.
