Changes this release:

• New beta feature to allow creating custom rulesets. This feature is in the early stages and may change in the future.
  
• Rulesets allow the game host to customize what happens when cards are flipped. This includes updating the text and triggering minigames (thumbmaster, date, heaven, etc)
  
• Fixes bug causing crashes and freezing when a player changes their name
  
• Other minor bugfixes/changes

1. From the Main Menu select "Customize Rules" to enter the Ruleset Editor
   
2. In the Ruleset Editor menu read the instructions on the left, then select New Ruleset on the right
   
3. Replace Enter Ruleset Name... with the name of your new rules. This cannot be changed later.
   
4. Use the inputs and dropdowns listed next to each card (A, 2, 3, etc.) to customize the action. You can change the Title ("2 is you:"), the description ("<player> chooses someone to drink!"), and the Minigame that starts (Heaven, Date, etc.).
   
5. Optionally, you can leave some fields blank. These fields will revert to the defaults for the given card.
   
6. When you are finished, select Save!

1. First create a custom ruleset using the instructions above
   
2. From the Main Menu select "Customize Rules" to enter the Ruleset Editor
   
3. Using the dropdown on the right under "or edit existing ruleset" choose the ruleset you want to edit from the dropdown
   
4. You can now update any fields in the Ruleset Editor other than the name
   
5. When you are finished, select Save!

1. In the Main Menu, click the drop down above the "Host Game" button
   
2. Select the ruleset you created using the instructions above (or select default for the default rules)
   
3. Click Host Game and invite your friends!

Note: The rules of the game are determined by the host and must be created by the host before starting a game. We are looking into options for exporting or sharing rulesets between players and friends.

Changes in this release:

• MacOS is now supported!
  
• To support mice and trackpads with only one button, you can now use the space key to thumbs up in addition to right-clicking on a mouse
  
• It is now possible to change the resolution of the game from the main menu by selecting Settings -> Resolution

Version v0.9.3 has been released to all users on Steam and includes the following changes:

• Players can now select their date by clicking the heart icon next to a players name (after pulling an "8 is date" card)
  
• When two players are dating they will both have a heart icon next to their name (only 2 players can date at a time)
  
• A "?" icon shows when you are the Question Master. Other players cannot see this icon, so you can still trick them once they forget who is the Question Master
  
• New icons are being used (Click here for the list of icons and their meanings[onlinekingscup.com])
  
• All icons now show simultaneously. For example, if a player has their thumb up while pointing to heaven both icons will show
  
• Players are prompted for their name when joining and are given a random title (e.g. Bob becomes Bob, the Brave). The titles are a mix of funny and serious medieval titles. Feel free to suggest new ones!
  
• Steam profile pictures are now displayed next to each player
  
• The welcome message generated in the chat window now shows for all players instead of just the host of the game
  
• Several minor bug fixes

Release contains a hotfix for an issue causing turns to be assigned to players out of order. Turns should now be sequential based on the order players join the server. When all players have gone, the host will go again and the order should continue.

Under some conditions an error would occur during the turn rotation, as a last resort the server would reset and give the host the turn again. This is now resolved.

Our first update is here and brings:

• Steam based Player-to-Player (P2P) networking which brings much stabler multi-player
  
• In-game chat - you can now send chat messages to everyone in game
  
• Revised game log shows more info like remaining cards and is formatted for better clarity
  
• A new medieval name and title generator (replaces the adjective/animal names)
  
• Several bug fixes causing errors and freezing

Steam based networking

Previously servers were hosted by us and a game code was used to invite players to an existing game. We had a lot of stability issues with this, in particular when a lot of players were online. Instead, new games are created by selecting the new "Host Game" option and then inviting more players using either Discord or Steam. The player who creates the game is acting as the server. This change brings stability and faster multiplayer. More info and examples on inviting can be found at this link[onlinekingscup.com].

In-game chat

Everyone in game can now chat using the chatbox on the bottom right! We still recommend voice chat using a service like Discord, but chat is great for recording events like who is dating who or clarifying spelling during rhyme and categories.

Medieval Names

Instead of names like "Angry Alligator" you will get a randomly generated medieval name and title. It can still be changed manually if you want. If you have ideas for better/funnier titles and names let us know!
