Update 7 Patch Notes

Update 7 is currently rolling out on Steam. Here are the patch notes:

Improvements:

In local head-to-head games with pitch selections hidden, pitch selection feedback is now given on first selection even when the selection duplicates the default selected pitch.

Bug Fixes:

Fixed: In online play, the server can crash if a player tries to both select a new baserunner and send a baserunner to a base on or close to the same frame.
[*Fixed: Baserunner trait activations can cause the game to crash in some cases when an intentional walk is triggered before the activation animations complete.
Fixed: When joining an online game in progress from the Play Menu, input for backing out of the substitution menu is incorrectly disabled in some cases.
Fixed: Last names "Balinstandos" and "Hiwanase" are not announced by the in-game announcer.
Fixed: Last name "Puckerton" is misspelled as "Puckerman", resulting in the name not being announced by the in-game announcer.

Fielding help

I can't for the life of me ever tell where the ball is actually going. You get no real indicator. In SMB3 I remember they'd wave their arms around, but here that isn't the case? Am I missing something? Also I can't figure out why the selected character randomly changes when all I am doing is pushing the stick to run toward it....

Are shadows and lighting as atrocious as they look?

I love SMB3 and have played it in several platfoms. Lately I have considered buying SMB4, but I have watched many YouTube videos in which the shadows are too harsh. The contrast of light and dark is extremely sharp, detracting from gameplay. Sometimes it's hard to see important details clearly. Colors look washed and unnatural. Can this issue be solved through graphics configuration?...

how to turn off slow motion

I upped my Ego to 45 but the players are always moving in slow motion.

I've been playing SMB since the first one. 3 was my favorite, however this one surpasses it. I just love how fluid the game is, I love the new stuff they added. There's some cool angles where if you hit a line drive to SS, 2B, etc. then the camera follows and you can pick your play during the slow-mo. I like the crowds input during plays, whether the pitcher is having issues or the current batter. Honestly, if you like baseball or even SMB then there's no doubt in buying this game. Don't let EA turn you off, it still seems like Metalhead has/had full control over this game.
