I've got a new patch and some goodies for you kids!

First of all there's some new achievements some of you begged for. You wanted milestones for kills.
I made them for people kills and for car kills.

Some people haven't noticed it but Maniac is STEAM DECK VERIFIED!
It works great and is a lot of fun on your handheld device!
Third big thing are new Steam Trading Cards with beautiful mugshot faces of our beloved characters:

UPLOAD YOUR OWN CITY TO STEAM LIKE THIS
Floating points help you see what you've picked up and how much damage you have dealt (useful for score attack mode!)

DAMAGE - white
MONEY - green
AMMO - yellow
HEALTH -red

Floating points are optional and can be disabled in the game settings (they can affect performance).

Do you wanna nuke the city on hard mode!?

I tried to keep the normal game balanced for all. But for the hard core players I've made a special HARD mode.

Changes in hard mode:
* More pursuit vehicles
* Faster and more frequent enemy bullets
* Higher max damage (less health)
* Limited ammo
* Higher shop prices

Hard mode is unlocked if you complete/nuke the city with all 6 characters.

Feel like going for an endless run? Do you want to compete against your highest score?

In the top right corner you'll find the new damage score indicator (only in Score Attack mode). The bar shows how much you have left until the next pursuit level.
Score attack doesn't have a time limit. Instead wanted levels come in based on the damage you've made to the city, cars and people (just like good old GTA 1).

Score attack is unlocked if you complete/nuke the city with one character.

Last but not least. Playable moments allow you to play player created challenges. It works like a replay of a moment of gameplay. You can play the same moment and try to beat somebodies score. For instance, a playable moment objective might be to run over 20 policemen within a 15-second timeframe. You can do the same or out-do the creators score.

You can also sign-up, create and upload your own moments for others to play. If for whatever reason you decide to not use this feature, you can easily disable it in the Playable Moments settings.

Maniac officially plays GREAT on Steam Deck!

In other news: I'm working on Steam achievements, workshop, "playable moments" and new game modes.

A big update is coming in May!

I fixed a bunch of issues for Steam Deck. We are also waiting for Valve's verification to give us that nice green checkmark icon!

Also a bunch of other QoS and gameplay fixes - especially aiming.

I've planned 2 content updates for Maniac in the upcoming few weeks:

UPDATE 1 (this week or next week)

• Playable Moments - a new feature which enables anyone to replay anyone's moment during gameplay. This means you can save a highlight of your gameplay and then share that moment with the community. For example you destroyed 5 tanks in 30 seconds with Santa. You can let others replay that moment and let them beat your score - to destroy 7 tanks in 20 seconds - for example. More on this in the update!
  
• Most critical bug fixes - auto-aim issues, controller issues, menus and upgrade issues.

UPDATE 2 (in about 4-5 weeks)
This update will focus on the much missing Steam features content:

• Steam Achievements - a lot of new stuff to do!

  1. an easy way to play new maps created with the editor
     
  2. ability to play modified pursuit levels (order and amount of pursuit vehicles)
