Thumbs Down Review for UEBS 2
It’s frustrating to see that the developers seem to have left UEBS 2 behind, with no updates since December 2023. While the game itself has potential, it’s missing some key features that made the first game more enjoyable:

What’s Missing:
No Pause or Fast Forward: You can’t pause battles or speed things up, which is a big letdown.
No Team Colors & Quick Unit Placement on Walls: These are really small tweaks that could go a long ways.
Limited Army Slots: The restrictions on army slots make it hard to set up teams as efficiently as in the first game.

Where It Needs Improvement:
In-Game Audio Adjustments: You should be able to tweak audio settings without leaving the game.
Aiming Reticle for God Powers: It would help a lot if powers like “Shotgun Smite,” “Nuke,” and “Tsunami” had a reticle for better aiming.
Continuous Autofire: When controlling projectile units, holding the mouse button should keep them firing.
Minimap: A minimap would make it easier to navigate and teleport around large maps.
Gameplay Frustrations:
Stuck Units: Units often get stuck in spots they can’t reach, which messes up the battle flow and forces you to intervene manually.

How It Could Be Better:
New Units: Adding units that can climb would solve the issue of unreachable spots and make battles more interesting.
Better Unit Placement: A “paintbrush” tool for unit placement in the pre-battle screen would save time and effort.
Smarter AI: The AI should be able to:
Detect when they’re stuck and move or self-destruct.
Ignore targets they can’t reach (for melee units).
Avoid shooting at targets they’re unlikely to hit (for ranged units).

Watched a few YouTubes on this game before buying and immediately got excited...Bought, installed, and played around with it for a few hours, and then uninstalled it the next day. I went through a similar thing with Garry's Mod for Half Life.

So why the positive review after I just whined about it?

it's not the dev's fault that I underestimated the effort involved in building cool scenarios that would make the game fun. If you don't have the time or interest in creating elaborate scenarios like you see on YouTube, then you may not get into this one. Yes there are maps/scenarios that you can download, but even those require time to tweak.

But if you have the time and motivation to build, yes you can absolutely do some cool things with this sim.
