I absolutely love Salt and Sanctuary, it handled that translation of Dark Souls into 2D really well, had satisfying progression, thick atmosphere, and interesting lore.

This? I don't even know. This isn't Salt and Sanctuary 2 like I hoped, this is... nothing. I don't know how else to better put it. It's vapid. Shallow. Unremarkable. It has none of the qualities which made the original exceptional, to the extent that I really don't know why this exists at all.

The areas are uninspired, and too big for how little they offer.
The enemies uninteresting, and bosses especially a huge disappointment.

You're spoon fed lore and important terms by about a half dozen NPCs in the first hour which really takes away any of the setting's mystique. I really had no interest in what was going on around me, unlike in the first game. The mystery isn't engaging and everything just blends together to be really basic dark fantasy.

Suffice it to say, my disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined.

Do NOT buy this game, it's a waste of your money. Buy Salt and Sanctuary. If you already have it, buy it for a friend.

Do NOT play this game, it's a waste of your time. Just play, or replay the original. Or any other game which has more substance than this.
