Beautiful pixel art and engaging gameplay, always a win in my book. Good amount of exploration and puzzle solving with a relatively low level of backtracking (but some nice rewards if you do). I think this game came under fire for being too punishing when it was first released but it has been rebalanced and a I found the challenge just right on medium difficulty. It isn't perfect but it's a damn fine metroidvania -8.5/10

Good game although some biomes are a bit too long and the last 2 biomes felt a bit unnecessary. The artwork is great, the three different classes feel pretty distinct from one another (for my playthrough I picked the archer class). There are some systems that felt like you didn't have much of a reason to engage with (some special abilities, dodging was enough so not much reason to block, secondary weapons), although that might be a result of the big difficult changes that happened soon after the game's initial release after everyone found the game stupidly hard. One extra thing that bothered me during my archer campaign was the archer's counter attack dodge special move, which felt very slow and unresponsive as you have to press Rb which sucks cause when it worked it was cool, it added to your damage and it fit with the rest of the archer's cool moveset.
TL;DR: Cool beautiful game, nice class system, a bit longer than needed, has some extra systems that you don't feel the need to engage with. Give it a go, you'll like it.

Very fun metroidvania with great character design, movement and combat options, and exploration. I believe old criticisms were due to the game running slow or buggy initially, but I didn't run into any issues during my playthrough.
