I couldn't find a in-game explanation and there isn't that much info on the web

So i was playing as Shell character with burden of the Cross (Less health), who has 1 life by default. After picking cherries or antenna, my health did not increase. This was no issue when playing as Pure.

so 3 time in a row i beat the game with strawberry and pencilbrush and taking a item for go to ascend 2 to 3 . nothing unlock . is there a specifique ? like being good famous only ?

I don't get it why these options are set as they are. They feel like a roundabout way of doing a difficulty setting. Zooming out helps immensely, but can't be set on default, even though it's a bother to keep having 'F' pressed all the time and auto aim stops shooting the moment the last enemy dies, helping maintain combo, but also aims for the nearest enemy, even if the enemy is not on screen. If these are to be gameplay features wouldn't it be better to build around them instead of making them comple...
