Have over a 100 hours in game now. My first ever steam game review as i dont think the game is as bad as some of the reviewers are saying. Credit first the devs and toplitz for not abandoning the game. Also for their continual and quick responses to the bugs reported since 1.0 was released. It is deffo an improvement regarding gameplay. The background graphics and lighting on the huge map were already stunning for me. Hence me having so many hours in the game just exploring all the nooks and crannies on the map. I think that element rivals medievel dynasty of which so many tend to be comparing this game to.
The gameplay element doesnt tho, not surprisingly, as medievel is one of the best games out there at the moment, whatever the genre. However, it is comparable to farmers and lumberjack dynasties plus it has far more depth to it than those earlier dynasties in the franchise.
At the moment i have more hours in this game than sengoku which tells me something must be right about this game as sengoku is also a pretty good game.
The two criticisms i do have for WWD is the audio which has very little adjustment that can be made to various actions and the lack of an in depth ingame guide. As the depth in the game is always requiring you to find answers to questions which the journal guide is way too basic to answer. Plus there are very few YT content creators playing the game to provide those answers either.
Overall tho it isnt as bad as some are saying and it is still improving with content being added. Price may be offputting so maybe wait for sale. Tho price, i would argue, is no different in comparison to FD and LD when they came out.

I haven't played any of the other dynasty games, but I really like the Wild West theme in games, and I like a lot of what you have to do in the game but there are so many frustrating design aspects that really ruin the experience.

No autosave that you can load from the main menu (it exists on your hard drive but you can't load it from the game?!)
Awful map that doesn't even center on the player when you open it?!
The compass is very difficult to tell what direction your traveling in (how about some contrasting colors?!)
Awful inventory system (way too small a window, categories that don't make any sense, can't sort everything by any kind of label)
Placing objects is done from the build radial menu and then you have to find the right category of object you wish to place. Why doesn't it just list the objects in my inventory that I CAN place? It literally lists all the objects in the game you don't have and CAN'T place!!

There are some game specific things that are irritating as well, but the things I've specifically mentioned have been done well in a million games already; why have these basic game systems been made so poorly?

after researching games for something new to get into for a couple weeks, i settled on WWD. so far im cool with it. after over 10k hrs of Dayz and many others, this is a nice find. runs great on my rig : i7 4790 amd rx 580 8gvram.
