The next placeholder had to go and was kicked out, this time it was the trader's.
We replaced the flying "somethings" with an actual model of how the traders are supposed to look in the game - a carriage with brave horsies in front of it.

They also rotate into the proper direction, so they'll see and be able to avoid any obstacles in their way.

Speaking of obstacles:


We also have a working pathfinding implementation now.
What is that and what does this mean, you ask?

It's the ability of the game to find a decent way from one hexagonal tile of the map to any other - including accounting for hard to pass terrain or not all passable fields.

Check out this example, where the game found a neat way from the left to the right end of this road while avoiding and "walking around" the impassable mountains:

Ladies and gentle men, we're so super happy to tell you that Let Them Trade is making good progress!

It has been a bit quiet since we started working on the prototype of Let Then Trade, lot's of work needed to be (re)done as we had to start from scratch and do everything new, since we switched to Unreal Engine 4.

But we're finally on track again, and from now on we don't want to leave the fast lane.


Our first, big goal was to get a "complete game loop" that also looks nice.
What does this mean?
This means that at this stage, the game is basically running and things are already happening!

Thomas has worked his incredible magic and created fantastic new assets (the game tiles and everything on them), Michael ("Hellcat") cast some dark voodoo to fill the traders, that are already existing in the game, with enough life so they can make profit yielding decisions on what resource to buy at which city and where to sell it again and last but not least, Alex and Flo joined forces for the first bit of UI!

So yeah, big progress in the houses of Let Them Trade.

And be asured, we're already having a detailed plan on how to get to the next milestones - we will, of course, keep you very updated, so you always know what's up :-)
