Hi, owners of large mutant collections!

Today we arrive with a new patch for Creature Lab, fresh after the large content drop of Sandbox Mode and new visual effects for mutants. The implementation of new elements went well, thanks to your help via playtest. However, we have still - also with your help - identified some further issues needing addressing.

The most important problems we found with the help of your bug reports were progression issues appearing in some instances for the tutorial and one of the first missions. We provide fixes for all these problems, so you shouldn't stumble upon those blockers in the game anymore.

The second batch of fixes is mostly for visual glitches with mutant presentation. We have also identified some improperly working collisions on various walls, so we have also set them right.

We hope that those changes will make your gameplay even smoother!

We also want to send special thanks to all the people whose feedback is helping us to combat the most persistent issues in the game. Especially those community members that send us their DxDiag files, save files, and other data that help us directly in locating and reproducing the issues. Big kudos!

The patch introduces the following changes:

• Fixed a major blocker appearing in some instances after skipping the tutorial.
  
• Fixed the issue of mutant locked in the holder without the possibility of removing it when switching from tutorial to sandbox.
  
• Removed a progression blocker appearing in some instances after getting the first set of research papers.
  
• Amended the issue of missing mutant limbs in Creaturopedia.
  
• Amended the visual issue with the mutant's shirt.
  
• Amended the improper wall collisions.

If you are experiencing the issue with a black screen appearing after the Image Power logo and not loading the game further, please check if your configuration meets the minimum requirements described on the Steam store page. If it meets the requirements, we kindly ask you to send your DxDiag.txt file to marek@imagepower.pl, on the Steam forum, or via our Discord, to analyze your configuration.

The long-awaited big update for Creature Lab is in! And it will allow you to tinker with nearly every aspect of your playthrough with the Sandbox Mode. You can make it easier, you can make it harder, and you can do a bit of cheating to have fun with the game your way!

Some of you had the chance to test the main attraction - Sandbox Mode - during playtests and we're grateful for your feedback. Now the full mode is available for your pleasure. We hope you will enjoy it tremendously. We also added a large variety of fixes. You can check in the patch notes at the end of this post.

For the most stable experience with new features, we advise creating new save files. The new features will work with other saves, but a new save guarantees the best performance.

But this is not all we have in store for you today! We even have an adult-only surprise courtesy of Madmind Studio. Thanks to this cooperation, the main character of their acclaimed title Succubus is available to you in a free 18+ DLC as an exclusive creature!

So what exactly will you get today for your enjoyment? Let's sum it up!

allows you to set a large number of parameters to your liking. You can start a new game in Sanbox Mode or move your existing playtrough to Sanbox Mode. Among many things, you can:

• set the investigation multiplier and panic multiplier,
  
• set the investigation and panic to the selected value during gameplay,
  
• set the total population on the map and its weekly increase,
  
• opt for instant limb creation,
  
• opt for universal mutant DNA,
  
• get unlimited Dark Web tokens,
  
• spawn random element, elixir, mutagen, or body.

Using Sandbox Mode parameter settings, you can tailor your game to anything you want and have unlimited fun in whatever way you like.

Please be mindful that choosing the Sanbox Mode turns off the Story Mode. You also cannot get achievements when playing in Sandbox Mode.

You may notice that your creatures got... more colorful. Or that they have horns or strange growths on their bodies. Or maybe became slightly electric, or are oozing pretty visible clouds of stank. Yes, your creatures just got much more mutated. Now they acquire new visual effects based on their composition. In addition to existing possibilities with limb swaps, you can create some truly bizarre monsters. Because even mad scientists need diverse looks for their favorite creations!

Want to spice up your gameplay? Thanks to our collaboration with Madmind Studio, you can add a true queen of Hell to your creature roster! She can spawn in the body chamber in place of the mutant you were making, so be on watch for this hellish beauty. The more mutants you make, the higher the chance for her to appear. The Succubus is as imposing as it is alluring. She will surely stand out from your collection of more corpse-like creatures. Of course, she also works as any other creature, which means you can upgrade her with different limbs as well! That also means you can grow her limbs in the incubator as well.

Hi, people experimenting with new ways to terrorize the city!

Thank you for your participation in our playtests over the weekend! We are already working on some fixes and changes based on feedback we have received from you.
Meanwhile, as we are working on those issues, we have decided that there is no need to close the playtests so soon. We have not decided if we need the second round of tests yet - we need to analyze the scope of possible changes we want to implement, but for now, enjoy the additional time with the Sandbox Mode till Wednesday.

We will be of course very grateful for additional feedback and sending Bug Report surveys our way!

Hi, city-conquering big (and mad) brains!

Today is the day. Our playtests for Sandbox Mode in Creature Lab are open. You've got a whole weekend to test it out and help us find any issues that may lessen the quality of the experience. Additionally, you have an occasion to be the first to customize your gameplay thanks to the Sandbox Mode options, as well as see the visual indicators of the creature's composition we are adding to the game.

Please remember that you will find bugs in this version of the Sandbox Mode. We are aware that this build will not reflect the final state of the mode and can have potential issues preventing us from having a great experience with the content. That's why we have decided to do playtests and we are thankful that so many of you are ready to try out such an early version of the mode!

Feel free to share any feedback thanks to the survey available on hand at all times. We will be glad if you will report any bug you find, big or small. We also hope that in addition to this bug-hunting, you will have some quality fun with the new mode!



To start the game, click the Sandbox button in the difficulty selection screen. Please note that difficulty levels will be not selectable as when normally starting a campaign, but you can choose a difficulty in the Sandbox Mode setup window which will appear after clicking the button. You can access Sanbox Mode menu, which allows you to customize the game, from:

• difficulty selection menu
  
  
• pause menu (ESC)
  
  
• by pressing F2
  
  

There are also some known issues we'd ask you to be mindful of. Please report any bugs related to:

• map freezing issues (should be already patched out, but we would be grateful for confirmation and info if you spot any instance of freezing)
  
• issues connected with saving and anomalies after loading a save
  
• Some of the visual representations of elements don't spawn on a petri dish under the microscope
  
• The icons for hospital and lab equipment don't show immediately after skipping a day, but for example only when you enter the region and go back to the map, or when you skip another day
  
• The status of a boosted mutant who has already used up the buff during missions is still visible on his Creaturopedia card after saving/loading
  
• On Hard/Insane there may be visible differences between unknown elements as shown in Mixturopedia and pinned on HUD for the same mixture
  
• The O key (Last Story Prompt) is not working and pressing it will make the game lose focus, forcing a need to reload

And one small note - if you need to take a screenshot when playing the game, you can use the Steam screenshot function by pressing F12. The screenshot will be saved in your images catalog on Steam.

Hope our joint effort will be fruitful and we'll make Sandbox Mode a smoothly working feature of Creature Lab!

Hi, freestyle creature creators!

A few weeks ago we opened the registration for playtests of an entirely new, but highly anticipated way to play Creature Lab. Of course, we are talking about Sandbox Mode. And we have good news for all of you eager to help us make this mode work smoothly and issue-free!

We are happy to inform you that the special playtest build is ready for your feedback. This weekend, you will be able to delve into it and thoroughly check key features that we want to offer in an upcoming big update of Creature Lab. Please report any issues you will find in the build, as well as share your thoughts on the mode itself - we have prepared a special survey accessible straight from the game.

Of course, each of you will find at least some bumps on the road, so all the bug reports are super important to us. Let's iron out the Sandbox Mode together to make it a great experience!



Below you will also find useful information to be mindful of during our tests:

1. The test build consists of Sandbox Mode plus the visual changes in the presentation of the monster depending on their composition
   
2. You cannot access the Campaign and the Dark Web in the test builds
   
3. Saves made in the test build will not work in the full game, and saves made in the full game will not be loadable in the test build
   
4. The test build is not the final version of the Sandbox Mode and may be susceptible to change, including changes based on your feedback
   
5. You can access the Sandbox Mode menu from the difficulty selection panel, by entering the pause menu (ESC) - you will find a separate button for Sandbox Mode in the lower right part of the screen - or by pressing F2
   
6. You can always access the feedback survey for playtests by using the F3 key or from the pause menu
   

After the playtests wrap up, we will announce either the next round of playtests or the launch date for the big update including Sandbox Mode - depending on the results of the tests.
