First off, I don't like saying bad things about stuff, at least not openly, but this one breaks it for me. I watched it for a long time, to see if it demonstrated any value from the pictures and videos, but the price was a concern, that it might actually be worth it. And it never apparently went on sale. So, it was a gamble from the beginning, hoping it was a good value. Unfortunately, it is not.

I like playing base-building and survival sims, but to me, this game seems especially primitive for what you can do and how you do it. And for the price, I would surely expect more. There are no monsters to kill, no challenges to overcome, and no glory to achieve. Your interactions with the environment are VERY limited, and the animations are mostly predefined cut scenes for whatever you do find to interact with. This looks much more like a private fantasy of you and some ditsy female lost on a island with nothing to do but run in circles chasing each other.

For instance, you have specific harvest nodes that you harvest, again and again and again, on a cool-down timer. It is not an open world to interact with just anything. Your actions fade to cut scenes for the actual "action". Then, you have to figure out for yourself what, if anything, you can do with all the junk you pick up, as most of your crafting options are mysterious question marks, and mostly to make better tools to harvest more nodes to pick up more junk.

Building a house is composed primarily of nearly geometric elements in a nearly geometric grid space, and only in specific areas, not simply anywhere you feel like it, as you can in other base-building sims. It is a seriously restricted mode of construction with no sense of imagination, and definitely not free-form, as it is elsewhere.

The character animations appear silly, like it was designed by a Woodstock reject who was high on MJ, and using only a rudimentary set of animation clips. You're paired with a ditsy female who mostly prances around as if in a daydream, at least until she falls down due to exhaustion and/or starvation, to which you now need to carry her to the nearest bed and "tuck her in" until the next time you sleep and end the day. Aside from that, your main can do little more than run from one side of the island to the other, checking each of those harvest nodes to see if the CD is done yet, and filling up your bag with more junk to store in a box. And while there are locked areas to open up, they only provide more of the same. And you unlock them by fulfilling the one and only true "quest" the game offers, which is to teach that ditsy female...something. And that assumes she's conscious and willing to follow you around for it. But the most she ever did for me was to applaud like a simpleton whenever I harvested a flower or a rock and pulled out more of that junk. She never learned to do it herself, and she doesn't seem to participate in any other activities. She doesn't even eat when I tell her to, even though her stats showed she was starving and hypothermic, and she should be dead by now. So, I have no idea what purpose she serves, other than to run around like a ditsy female...which I don't personally care for.

If you're a guy who likes to dominate over ditsy females with barely enough brainpower to pronounce their name, you'll love it. I just hope you have some good weed on you, because you'll need it to dumb your brain down enough to handle the mind-numbing level of play style this game offers.

And I'll emphasize it again, it costs TOO MUCH! I wouldn't pay a fraction of the price if I knew what little it actually provided for the entertainment value. And I wish I didn't. Unfortunately, the Steam refund policy expired before I even finished the tutorial and realized just how lame the rest of it actually was. This sort of game would likely take 100+ hours to accomplish anything meaningful. So, cutting you off for a refund after a meager 2 hours isn't enough time for you to realize just how little it actually has to offer. And for the price, I was hoping it opened up better possibilities once you got out of the requisite tutorial scenes.

Needless to say, the devs got their money out of me, regardless of how valuable (or not) the game actually is. As for me, I'm removing it from my computer. I have better things to do than to fill up my terabyte sized drive space (which is only about 1/3 full right now) with such nonsense. I'll probably follow with removing it from my account. It's not even worth keeping as a visual reminder.
