I'm late to the party, but I am honestly wondering how this game got its game of the year award.

It's like:
First 10 %: Good
Last 10 %: Great (if you have the epilogue-dlc)

The rest is unimaginably tedious and way to long. It feels like they were forced to expand the game to 100 hours no matter how. The pure game mechanics aren't fun. Every fight is the same. Again and again and again. Movement is often fiddly. All menus are made for controller but not in a good way. It's like they wanted you to have no overview at all at no time.

There are so many indifferent npcs with even more indifferent tedious tasks. At one point I was totally lost and had no idea, why I was doing what I was doing. I mean, my character had no immersive reason to even meet with these people. They were just there and having problems.

The world is huge and filled with a lot of nothing. 90 % of the games lore and story is being presented to you in the form of plain and boring text. There is a reason why there are several mods to increase your characters movement speed. You just don't want to spend so much time running from map-marker 1 to map-marker 2 and so on.

Sorry to say, but: It really hurt and was an insult to my lifetime. After having played all four instalments of the series in the recent months, this is the worst one by far.

Pros. The game is beautiful, combat interesting due various combat skills and ability to play different companions, I also enjoyed songs in the game (especially the one in the mountains) and, although rare, but jokes were funny. Main quests are amazing, I also enjoyed that DLCs Decent and Tresspasser didn' t have lots of insignificant side quests and wast zones to explore. Story of DLC Jaws of Hakkon were good as well. The last room's design was amazing.

Cons. Main game and DLC Jaws of Hakkon had alot of filler content that gets boring after some time. I lost feeling of continious action and felt like grinding wolf skins in MMO. I also got overleveled, because I didn't have idea what zones to tackle first (trials helped alot by making all enemies the same levele, but still, most of the game seemed too easy for HARD settings). DLC the Decent last boss fight and story ending was kinda quick and unclear. Companion quests were less enjoyable then those of Mass Effect, perhaps because they were way shorter and most if them didnt have similar depth.

I've tried starting this game multiple times and if just feels like an mmo without the community aspect. The side quests are all extremely boring and involve collecting a certain number of items or siting in the same area and killing a number of infinitely re-spawning generic enemies. Iv'e heard that the role playing aspect of the game is really good but i just can't get over how boring the game play is

Its still bit early for the wokeism cancer to ruin it but its still there if you see there's only one decent romance option. The gameplay is decent although it shifts significantly from the previous 2 games. Dialogue is decent enough to enjoy. Anyway this is my last Dragon Age game as I will not be playing Veilguard. Never hated a game so much just from the trailer.

Doesn't work on steam. Hours are to get stuff.

Took me a couple tries, but once I created a character who fit the backstory the game gives based on your race and class, a character I could become attached to the game really hit me. The Hinterlands being the first zone can feel a bit overwhelming because of its size, but its not really expected of you to complete the whole thing. Get the horses, do what you need to then come back later.

Huge game, lots to do, great characters 5/5

I have a very similar opinion about all Dragon Age games but for different reasons. I love them deeply, but they're all very messy in execution. This game gives me my favourite cast of characters in the series, gameplay thats actually passable and absolutely gorgoeus visuals. The story doesn't quite engage though, the open world feels empty, the lore is as inconsistent as ever and the main antagonist is kinda uninteresting.

Despite that I love it, maybe because of all that is why I love it. Wouldn't really be Dragon Age if it wasn't a messy, inconsistent and rushed game, wouldn't it? These games hold a truly special place in my heart, despite all the flaws each of them possess.

Locked out because of the EA launcher not having the correct account attached. Same happened with AC games and the only fix is contacting support with endless too and fro. DONE! I'm done with anything EA. Not buying the new Dragon Age game or any other AC games. Not worth the bother. F U EA!

Can't play due to EA app so wouldn't recommend. Sometimes I think I should go back to solitaire.
