I think I've already finished Detroit: Become Human about 8–9 times to get all the achievements, which makes a “normal” review quite difficult.

The game is like an interactive film that lasts 14–18 hours and has very different outcomes depending on the decisions you make. It's a spiritual successor to “Heavy Rain”, which to be honest I liked a bit more because it moved me more. Nevertheless, the story of Detroit: Become Human leaves you anything but cold, especially at the end. I mean, I may have shed a tear or two after my first playthrough.

In my opinion, the soundtrack is very suitable, and the game features some remarkably attractive and detailed backdrops, contributing to a very immersive experience.
The atmosphere draws you in, so that you often feel like a part of this futuristic, dystopian city of Detroit.
Another thing that I really liked were the many thought experiments and moral/ethical questions that the game throws at you, and the ever-present critical display of destructive human behavior patterns.

However, there are a few aspects that bother me about this game. To name a few: The replayability of this game is high, but unfortunately it is usually tedious and time-consuming to play other 'routes' of a level.
Why are there so few re-entry options in the middle of a level? Why is there no option to skip cutscenes?
I mean, these are good design decisions for the first playthrough, but they make subsequent playthroughs unnecessarily exhausting.
Another thing I have to mention are the face animations that frequently look a bit stiff and “inhuman”.
I also don't understand why there is only an easy and medium difficulty level; sometimes I would have liked the game to be a bit harder.

All in all, I would give Detroit: Become Human a 7.5/10, and I can't think of any good reason why you shouldn't at least give this game a try.

My favourite game

I mourned for days after i failed to keep the only people alive in the game that i wanted to live. Its like saving food in the fridge for later just for your big back sibling to eat it when you're not looking. Then when u feel hungry and get excited to eat that delicious ass food u walk to the fridge and open the door just to see the container still there and as you go to pick it up expecting a good ass meal all u lift up is a weightless container and as u open the lid u see nothing but dirty ass finger prints and left over crumbs from their fat ass mouth. Like if u wanted a meal maybe next time think of a salad cuz for the love of god i can hear your fat ass breathe from the other side of the house. AND to add the cherry on top your girl text you that she wants to break up and how that she doesn't feel happy in the relationship anymore even after all that i have done for her. i paid for everything and gave her endless love and all of a sudden she just wants to call it quits. Like was i not enough for you? Was the man THAT I WAS NOT ENOUGH? I DEDICATED HOURS IF NOT DAYS ON YOU JUST FOR YOU TO THROW IT ALL AWAY AND SAY YOU'RE NOT HAPPY ANYMORE. YOU COULDN'T EVEN HAVE WAITED TILL TOMORROW? YOU REALLY HAD TO DO THIS ON MY BIRTHDAY? Then after receiving the news you run to your room and close the door and cry for hours in the dark. You end up waking up the next day after crying yourself to sleep just to check your phone and seeing 8 miss calls and 28 text from your 600lb life brother saying that mom got into a bad accident and that she passed away on the scene. You end up spending the next 2 weeks mourning and crying yourself dry from all the water in your body that at the funeral all you can do is just sit in silence and cry out nothing. Now your eyes are completely dried out from all the crying you have been doing that they feel itchy so you rub them consistently cuz you hate the feeling of dry eyes. But its a good thing that you have blacked out glasses on so no one can see how red your eyes are. Then you eventually get up to go see your mom one last time before they put her in the ground for good. As you walk up to the casket your whale of a brother pushes you away for he can say bye first but he pushes your with so much force that you fall down face first in dog poo. As you get up u realize that some poo got on your glasses so u take them off to clean them but your ugly ass little cousin sees you with your glasses off and yells out loud that you got pink eye from the dog poo. Then everyone starts laughing at you and starts calling you names and making fun of you but you try to explain why your eyes were already all red and irritated but no one listens because they are all laughing to hard so you just decide to leave and not even say bye to your mom you end up going off grid from all things family related for 3yrs just for one day you end up seeing your brother again at a random outdoor burger place and you try to not let him see you but the workers call for your order to be picked up so you walk up hoping he wont see you but he does and then now you have to the most awkward conversation with him and it actually goes good and you start to forgive him but as you're about to say you miss him you hear your name get called from behind you so you turn around just to see your ex girlfriend standing right in front of you and before you can even say anything your wrecking ball brother says "well since you're here i would like to tell you something" then proceeds to tell you that her and him have been dating for 2 and a half years then tells you if u would like to come over and visit sometime. Then as you stand there for a minute thinking of all the stuff you could say and do you finally open your mouth to speak just for a bee to fly in your mouth then you accidentally swallow it and it stings your throat and as it swells up and you're struggling to breathe helplessly on the ground in your final moments on earth your brother lifts your head up in his arms and before he can even speak to you one last time he lets out the most horrendous burp in your face which ends up being your final moments on this planet.

OVERALL EXPERIENCE 1000/10 WOULD RECOMMEND THIS GAME

Yes.

Wow, what an emotional rollercoaster of a ride that was. I can't believe this masterpiece was made so long ago, and I only just got around to finishing it. Really interesting themes of identity, sentience of artificial intelligence, and humanity were captivating. A very deep, rich story with decisions that matter, and you really feel the toll of your choices. The only negative for me was that some of the dialogue options are pretty ambiguous, I had a few instances where I'll interpret a choice as one thing, but the complete opposite message is conveyed, fortunately those hiccups didn't impact the story too much.
