Best truly story-driven roguelike I have ever seen. Maybe because there aren't that many of those...

✔ 20 unlockable characters, each with very distinct playstyles gives lots of possible combinations (squads of 4 members)
✔ on top of that there are general skills in the deck, usable items, equipment, relics and upgrades
✔ the way story is integrated with the roguelike looping mechanism
✔ sometimes the normal rules are changed or broken for narrative reasons (in story mode)
✔ new unlocks come at a good pace

❔ runs take around 3-4h
❔ the story itself is interesting although the way it's written and side characters don't do it justice. Following the story sometimes it felt like switching between a deckbuilder and a light novel (with mediocre translation)
❔ ending pulls it off more or less, although many things are not stated explicitly and I had to connect the dots. At the same time connecting the dots too precisily can lead to problems like...
❔ at least one big dropped storyline, which makes you wonder, but there doesn't seem to be an answer
❔ doesn't rely on breaking mechanics with exponentials (e.g. common double poison/burn) or creating super-focused builds

- DLC with items/skills/relics etc
- max inventory, which is simply annoying and unnecessary
- unnecessary gameplay elements (e.g. buildings with interiors just for an openable chest inside)

A genuine underrated gem - if you ignore the slight translation hiccups and sometimes confusing ability descriptions. Recommended for anyone itching for a solid deck-builder with party based combat.

very unique battle system compared to other turn-based systems, also the music is really good.

i want to get amnesia to experience the story again.
