Definitely recommended for fans of roguelikes, dungeon divers, and DnD type adventures. I could also recommend Hand of Fate or Dark Lord.

Let me start by saying I rarely give a negative review. I usually always find something to like in a game.

I played Dark Quest 2 and enjoyed my time with it. This game is nothing like it. It has a completely different play style, which is not always bad, sometimes the developer succeeds at mixing up the formula a bit and trying something fresh. Not here though, the whole game feels like it was rushed. The rewards received in-game all feel underwhelming. The battles feel bland and samey.. There is very little strategy- you have no movement points and there is very little variety in combat cards that can be utilized. The game moves you forward by having you draw a card from the top of an event deck. Each area you progress through feels like it only has maybe 10 different event cards for that area and you will constantly draw the same events over and over......and over, sometimes I would get the same card 3 times in a row. Most cards have you roll a die to determine the course of action, usually with negative/neutral/positive outcomes. This system is RNG hell in full swing. I never felt like the choices I made or the battles I fought wholly determined my success in getting through an area, but rather the roll of the dice determined my fate. I could go on, but I already wasted enough time playing Dark Quest 3.
