It tried. Here's the problem with making games in inspiration to RE7.

Pros:
Atmosphere. Really nailed world building. Good bones.
Gun models look good and feel good to use.
Decent performance.
I can tell they really did try to give it an identity.

Cons:
Like every other Unreal Engine passion project - the AI is just simply awful. It's the exact same problem with all UE games that rely on store bought or Unreal Marketplace assets. It just kills the mood. They're goofy. The placement of AI is very amateur and feels unnatural

The lighting outside is borderline pitch black. Half of the start of the game is running around in the dark outside.

Voice acting is very bad.

The forced cut scenes also kill the mood. They're jarring.

So to end it? This is a bargain bin game. I'd maybe pick it up for like $15-$20 if you're bored and into very, very amateur re7-likes. 6/10

Big ambitions for a game that set out to be a Resident Evil clone falls flat.

While I enjoy what the dev was looking for in this game, there were some major UX issues that ultimately led to me really not enjoying the game and wanting to uninstall and post this review.

First of all, navigating the map was a complete pain. If you are expecting players to backtrack for certain items, I would almost recommend that you include a map that we can go back to (boltcutters specfiically were a complete pain)

Secondly, the voice acting is not great. I have played worse but I have also played a lot of better indie games that have better voice acting. This takes away from the immersion in a huge way.

Thirdly, did the developer not play test the game when going to the computers? I found the keycard #3 and gained access to that computer, but then I was unable to exit the computer even when I selected EXIT. Playtesting is vitally important to games - something this simple probably should not have happened.

Last but certainly not least - the gunplay and enemy AI. This particularly feels uninspired. Throughout the beginning stages of the game you are being chased by what looks like psychos with pig heads on, but one of my major issues with the enemy AI has to do with one of the bigger enemies that was delivered in a cage. The monster design was pretty cool, but on my playthrough I barely got a good fight with this guy. The guy aggroed immedietly after his cutscene and then proceed to get stuck attacking through a gate - talk about anticlimatic. Once again, basic playtest issue.

Overall, I am not sure if this game is worth the price tag that it is coming with it. It almost feels like it should be a F2P or $5 game.

Been on Steam for over a decade and this is my 1st review.

I put about 10 hours into this game, and while I was in the last stretch of the final sequence, a cut scene somehow got cut short and sent me back to the beginning scene of the game.

I legitimately thought it was some sort of insane twist for a solid hour, and kept trying to play until it was obvious that something was bugged with my save.

I tried loading up the only recent file I had other than my current, and all that does is load me into darkness, and then I fall through the map. I lost about 8 hours of my play through.

Couple that with the COUNTLESS bugs I encountered (enemies stuck in doors or just being non-responsive, buildings just straight up not loading), and I don't think I'd recommend this even if they were paying you.
