The art design of this game and world building has cemented this game in my memory. It was March 2020, start of the lockdown, and I was living with my girlfriend M.P.L. at the time and I stumbled upon this game. We sat down and played it together and got so much enjoyment out of it. It was so visually compelling and the humor was just on the nose enough to be memorable. I remember completing it, and we went through the pilot again. Then told all my friends to download this game immediately. It's crazy to think the my 2 favorite games from that time was Disco Elysium and Star Fetchers.

It was that good, It looked that cool, It was Hotline Miami mixed with Cyberpunk and Saints Row 1/2. You are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nobody, honestlya loser. Then your own Johnny mixed with Richard appears to upheave the mundanity, and start you're climb to the big leagues. I hope EP1 releases and then a EP2 and however many more till the story is complete and im alive to experience it.

It's been 5 years as of writing this and the banner on my twitter is still "Besides, my mom said we cant be at the apartment if we gone be doin' "gang ♥♥♥♥". It will most likely remain that way for the rest of my life, or until the game finishes and something even better can replace it.

Good aesthetic, humor, graphics, music, and idea but my reason for the negative review is that i just dont find the gameplay to be *fun* (but thats mostly due to unfinished game syndrome, hopefully when episode 1 releases itll be better)

(Also maybe its just a skill issue but still feel like i should bring these up)

My gripes with the gameplay is that it doesnt tell you much
The capes obscure your body making it hard to read where you can be hit
Doesnt tell you what time choke does
Doesnt tell you how much time you have with time choke (which is 2 seconds and completely useless because you cant get into effective range in or out of time stop due to enemies having long range and the short amount of time you have)
Doesnt tell you the use of dash (which is useless because theres no iframes to dodge through enemies or bullets and the tight linear layout of the levels doesnt really let you use any vertical movement, not to mention the dropkick is also useless since if you try to use it the dweeb youre aiming for kills you)
Enemies dont have any wind up/signal for when theyre going to attack
No weight when youre hitting someone
The sword sometimes phases through enemies without doing any damage
Doesnt tell you reflected bullets do damage
And the gameplay is just wagging your pointy stick around like most of the other reviews say

AGAIN: i hope this is just temporary and i still love everything else about it but it IS a game so the gameplay is the most important thing
