Since the last patch we have been tracking and working on the issues we see from feedback, and some features that were lacking some love. The Profile section was not fully hooked up for a while, and some of the UI was old and needed to be re-envisioned. We updated that section, got the stats working, added Role XP and basic function and even got more card and ability fixes in there.

Now the Profile Tab shows Leader types played, Origins played, which has the most wins, and then your current Rank and XP as the Roles you select. Right now the Strategist is checking KP gained, Brute is checking damage dealt, and Joker is tracking healing of enemies and damage of random targets or your own. What we track for the role XP will also grow over time so stay tuned for those changes.

Hey Keymasters!

As we patch, and make fixes, we also try to address as many UI/UX issues you bring up as we go. This patch has a bunch of additions for VFX that help with status effects and impact of damage.

Bind, Poison, Rally Cry, Focus, Confuse, Scholar, and more get new VFX to help show status and when traits trigger. Those effects stay on the card until they are removed by phases or other abilities.

Damage now gives some screen shake to help with impact. Card hits and Leader hits have different levels of shake. We will be extending this to be damage based soon so the impact get's crazy for bigger damage.

You asked for Guided Tutorials, and we delivered. This is just a first cut mind you, but it is much easier to follow than the previous video tutorials. Let us know if you have any comments on it and we can make updates as we go.

We also brought some fixes for Bots and Bot games. There were some issues where bots would draw out their entire deck and not fully die. Or when they died it might skip turn. Those are all fixed.

Another major update is that we fixed more potential crashes and may have finally stopped the fatal errors. Please let us know if you see any, and PrintScreen on your keyboard if you can. It will produce a Crash Log for us. Please post it to our Discord in the Bugs section.

Happy New Year Keymasters!

To start the new year strong, we answered another hot item you wanted: Bots. We just added Bots to the game, and they will fill the lobbies if you don't find other players. They are decent and will give you a run for your money. You can play them in 1v1 or Open 4-Player matches. Test out your decks or play games at any time now.

Now that getting in games is much easier, you can also play the Frostbite event and earn free cards from just playing games! So get in there and earn some new cards and build some decks to try out.

Let us know if you have any questions or any more suggestions. Next on the hot item list is Guided Tutorials. Now that bots are working, the guided tutorial shouldn't be too bad to set up.

Welcome to the Frostbite Event in Dark Table CCG!

The Frostbite Event runs from now until Feb 4th. During that time you can receive presents, check out the new bundle, and try the new matchmaking features. The entire theme of the game has a winter touch during the event.

Frostbite Event Features:

- Play games to get presents and free cards. Each game earns you 2x of a random card. Play with friends or in Matchmaking to earn these presents.

- Check out the Frostbite Bundle with animated Krampus playmat in the Store Seasonal section. This bundle will lock after the event, so use your gems and secure it now.
- We also have a New Matchmaking System that sends messages to Discord to get more players to join open games in Matchmaking. So be sure to join the discord as well if you want to see when players are looking for games.

- Of course we added Additional Bug Fixes and Performance Gains as well, as those will be ongoing.

Let us know any suggestions and feedback you have, our next major items on the feature list are guided tutorials and bot matches. Hopefully have that in the next month or so.

Thanks for all the awesome feedback, we have been working hard over the past 2 weeks to address the largest issues first to get a smoother game experience, and you should enjoy this latest patch.

Patch 24 Notes:

- Fixed Game Start Crashes (In-Game)
- Improved Game Level Loading Times Drastically (Reduced from about 1.5 minutes down to 10 seconds)
- Improved Performance (Less RAM and GPU)
- Improved Season Pass Tab (Hover over enlarge icons)
- Adjusted UI on Profile Tab
- Reduced Amount of objects loaded in level
- Reduced network traffic
- Made game startup more reliable
- Improved Matchmaking function (Waits less for additional players)
- Added more robust error checking to prevent crashes
- Progress bar on matchmaking (to see when the matchmaker will stop waiting for more players and go)
- Improved the Achievement notifications
- Steam Display Name now shown in-game
- Fixed a Matchmaking Crash
- Adjusted Beginning Currency to let players experiment with decks faster.

We heard what you were saying so we adjusted starting currency on accounts to allow players to get started with deckbuilding faster. You may have to play a few games to get enough currency to build exactly what you want.

Also be aware that the Season Pass has a free track on top, so you earn those items and currencies just from playing games and leveling up.

Thanks for checking out this Patch update, and please leave us comments if you have further suggestions. We expect to bring more players in now that the game is more reliable, and that will make it easier to find games with players. You can still always play with friends by directly inviting them to custom games as well, just swap the Mode to custom by pressing the Mode button next to Queue.

Hey Keymasters!

Thanks for all the great feedback everyone, and also thanks to those that jumped in the discord server to chat. We have heard the suggestions and are actively working fixes for everyone. Based on the comments, here were the major issues people want fixed:

- Performance overall (Ram and GPU usage were high)
- Peer to Peer being an issue for Hosts leaving
- Matchmaking time being annoying because players were resetting the wait timer
- Crashes (on Startup and In-Game)
- No interactive tutorial

Patch 23 addresses a lot of the first 4 issues:

- Cut memory usage by roughly 80%
- Cut GPU usage by roughly 80%
- Fixed UI scaling issue on Game Level
- Improved game performance and load times
- Fixed lobby timers to not restart when someone joins
- Added 1v1 mode to Solo Queue so you don't have to worry about host leaving (Working Dedicated Servers soon to fix altogether) *Keep in mind the cards are not balanced for 1v1, they are meant for 3-4 players*

This update should help those that were crashing with Ram and GPU memory issues. It should also provide better matchmaking timers, plus 1v1 mode means that the host doesn't need to stay after the game is over (until we fix altogether with dedicated servers.

For the in-game crashes we have hired a quality team to help track those down so we can fix those, so stand by on that front. We will try to address these in a timely manner.

For interactive tutorials and dedicated servers, we have those on the list to tackle after the crashes are cleared. More info on that soon.

Hey Keymasters!

Welcome to Dark Table CCG. We are now live in Early Access and you can play for free! Solo Queue or play with friends in Custom Games.

You can play games, build decks, buy cards/items, customize loadouts, and earn season pass items. Keep in mind this is still early Alpha and there may be some bugs and some intermittent crashes. Please report bugs using the bug form on the main menu, and if you crash just restart and queue up again.

Once you get into a game it may take a couple minutes for everyone to join and the game to start, so hang in there. We will be optimizing this over the next few weeks.
