Continuing with my trend of playing short games, I wanted to play another one from Octavi Navarro. This time, I went for the first Steam release, The Supper.

At first glance, the player plays as an elderly woman named Mrs. Appleton, who runs a quaint and cozy dockside restaurant with a very simple menu. She is joined by an unnamed narrator who feels very sinister and has a controlling type of tone to their voice. Once open, three guests arrive to have one of each of the three meals on the menu. Truthfully, these are meals to die for.

Without going into spoilers, the whole story and ending of this game are tragic yet beautiful. The way it was written made me feel really bad for her, but I was happy she got what she truly deserved by the time the credits rolled. To give an idea of how the story is, it reminded me of Sweeney Todd. Just like the first Midnight Scenes game and others from this developer, it goes for a pixelated look and point-and-click gameplay. In addition, the game is free, only about 15 to 20 minutes long, and if you do want to support the dev, you can buy the soundtrack and PDF art book. Always happy to show my support and love for these titles!

Amazing small game, with great lore, interesting and creative gameplay, and a cartoony yet kind of terrifying vibe. 10/10.
