The Outro

It's finally here: The final cutscene and conclusion of the VR Giants story.

Sorry for the slight delay we had, but finishing content and features always takes a bit more time to really make it shine. But here it is, and we really hope you like it. ✨

I don't want to show too much so I don't take away your motivation to finish the game, but guess who's back to round everything up? The creator!

Of course, our heroes are also there!

And we wouldn't want to miss the sheep, would we?

But as always, not everything goes as planned.

Pro Tip: Did you know your last collected costumes will be included in the Outro? Yes, it's true! So play it with the most hilarious costumes you can find and post a picture or send it to us.

About the creation progress:

It took us almost 9 months to get the outro right. Besides the actual work of recording, animating, and cutting the whole scene, the concept phase took a lot of effort. My intention was to close the current storyline in a satisfying way while still hinting at possible future content (no confirmation made here - just dreaming big). I hope you like how we solved it.

Is this the End?: No, definitely not!

The storyline might have concluded with the current update, but we are far from done with VR Giants. I don't want to reveal too much in this update, but sometime in Q1 next year, I will let you in on our plans and what's coming for VR Giants... and I promise it's a biggie!

The Final Level

The Final Level: All Good Things...

It is finally here. The last level you will face in VR Giants. And we made it a really long experience with many new challenges, a beautiful view, and a massive scale. If you want to finish the level in one go, please plan to spend at least an hour in VR, so make sure all your controllers are charged and you don't have anything else that could interrupt you. You can expect the following:

• Flying on Clouds

• Building unstable pathways with wood

• Classic Lava Goliath and Fireball challenges

• Dramatic wood block catapulting and many more fun activities...

Bug Report Tool

We finally have a bug reporting tool! Please use it whenever you encounter a bug so we can fix and polish everything to make the game shine. It's located in every menu. Your reports help us a lot.

Please be patient when sending a bug report. We don't have a progress bar yet and it may take a couple of minutes depending on your internet connection.

What about the Outro?

It's almost done. We originally meant to publish it together with the last level, but unfortunately, it would have meant that we had to delay the level launch again. So you get the last level now and the outro in a couple of days or weeks.

Stay tuned for many more great updates to come, some smaller ones before New Year's and some really big ones in 2025 (really big stuff is happening behind the scenes).

New Ice Level Out!

Iceland Hopping

We added a really long new ice level to the game. This will be one of the two final levels added to VR Giants. Just like the last two levels, which we added before Christmas, the level is longer and less linear than the previous levels. So, expect a playing time of about 90 minutes for this one and the following actions:

Build floating bridges for David

Shoot David up in the sky

Use high speed slides for ski jumps

Create new stairways with sticky cubes

Improvements:

Fixed light baking for button rings.
Improved performance by moving more meshes to static.
Fixed loading screen cutoff for some aspect ratios.

New Levels are out!

New Levels

We have added two new levels with 7 sections spread across 3 different biomes. You can find them in the Fluff after lifting up David to the next cloud plateau.

Here is a small preview:

Bug Fixes

Fixed issues with some USB input devices freezing movement in the game.
Fixed issues with some audio devices freezing the start screen.
Implemented a new system to prevent hands from getting stuck inside geometry when teleporting.
Added new LODs to improve performance on some systems.

Fixed Intro Perspective

After last update the intro would sometimes show the perspektive from inside of Goliath with a heavily moving camera. - Now its fixed.

Added Locomotion, more VR Settings, Improved David Camera and more...

After many requests, we have finally added some new features, such as:

Locomotion:

You now only need 1x1m of space.
Use the thumbstick/touchpad to move and rotate.
Press the thumbstick/touchpad to crouch/stand up.

In Settings:

Enable or disable movement, rotation, and crouching.
Choose movement speed.
Choose vignette visibility.
Choose left or right hand for rotation/movement.

Body Height Adjustment:

You can adjust the VR player's height in the settings, which is very helpful when playing with kids.

David Camera:

The camera now provides a better view of the direction you are walking towards.

Desert Level:

The sun no longer damages you when you move between the shadows of Goliath's fingers.

Big Performance Improvement for Cyrillic Languages

15 SEP 2023

Previously players using screen languages that included Cyrillic letters had 30%-60% less frames.
Now we finally found the bug and fixed it.

In case you still encounter performance issues with hardware above our minimum required, please contact us in the community discussion and let us know so we can fix it next.

We fixed fixed most mature bugs and are about to release some cool new features next.

Fixed several sources for bad performance on some systems

Added LODs
Reduced unnecessary tessellation
Fixed bad shader performance
More objects now in static batching

We added an option menu allowing you to choose your screen resolution.

We also fixed minor bugs with Open XR and the option to use the system default open XR solution.

Mouse sticks again to screen now.
