To everyone looking forward to the next update for Gensokyo Night Festival,

First of all, we apologize for not posting any updates in September.
We also apologize for the ongoing delay in the release of the next game update.

tea_basira is still working on the game, but we still haven't gotten to a point where we can release a proper update.
However, as you may know, this situation has persisted for a considerable period of time.

Therefore, even though there are still many bugs and unfinished portions, we have decided to release the in-development build as a private beta on Steam to share with you our current development progress.

Important Notice
As announced in this previous Steam News post, when we moved the project to the newest version of Unreal Engine, major bugs were created not just in the new Stage 3, but also in the previously completed and released Stages 1 and 2. Please note that since this is still an in-development build, there are numerous crash bugs, other bugs of varying severity, placeholder assets, and unfinished portions still present.

When we release this private beta, we will share the password for it in a sepeate post. If you want to see our current development progress, you may try the private beta by selecting Gensokyo Night Festival in your Steam library and entering the password in Settings>Properties>Betas."
This in-development version will save in the game install folder instead of the save folder the current public build (updated up to Chapter 2) uses, so even if you have existing save files, the game will start from the very beginning.

We plan to release the in-development version private beta on October 25, 2023 (JST). When the beta goes live, we will announce the password, name of the beta branch, and where to go to start Chapter 3 in-game. We would also greatly appreciate it if you could leave your feedback and impressions of the beta in our Steam Community after playing.

Back in March, we announced that Stage3 is 70% complete. However, we have encountered a new bug, and although tea_basira has been fighting it for a while now, it is very persistent and will likely take some more time to be completely resolved. At the same time, we are also working hard to improve the Stage3 map so that it will be of a satisfying quality.

We are deeply sorry for yet again being unable to provide any information on when the next update will be available. Both PLAYISM and the tea_basira are hard at work trying to make something that will meet everyone's expectations so we can announce it proudly when we're finally ready to share the good news. A recent update to the Unreal Engine broke certain parts of the development process, which meant Stage 1 and Stage 2 had to be remade internally, which in turn meant we spent a lot more time than expected on fixing bugs in those stages as well as working on Stage 3.

We're in the home stretch now, though! We apologize for the long wait, but please bear with us for a a little longer, and we hope you will continue to support the project.

Hello everyone,

Thank you for playing Gensokyo Night festival.
We apologize for the half-year hiatus since our last announcement.

As mentioned previously, the Unreal Engine update has caused several serious bugs in the game, and we are working day in and day out to fix these issues; however, we are currently and unfortunately still unable to provide you all with a playable build.

On top of the fact that tea-basira has been developing this title all on his own, it's also his first time developing a proper game, so he has requested the support of an Unreal Engine specialist.

We are working on fixing bugs every day, but it's similar to reading a single piece of code, character by character, and we apologize for not being able to announce the status of this project, since nothing new is currently in development.

The development of the game has not been put on hold, and tea-basira is still working hard to complete the game. We greatly appreciate all your patience and support.

We have pushed out an update that improves the boss fight experience!

• Yuugi has new attacks.
  
• Okuu and Orin have a new combined attack.

We have taken into account all the feedback regarding the key config and have consequently overhauled it and added new features!
*Apologies for the inconvenience but we ask that you reset your key config settings before continuing play.

Also we have implemented several minor bug fixes and adjustments.
