I recommend this game only with a steep discount.

This is not a bad game, it has a number fun things going for it, but all of them leave a feeling of unfinished ideas. Fighting the rebels is fun, but doing a whac-a-mole is not. The campaign seems like a perfect roguelike, but then it is over when you have barely started....

I try everything but all the time the rebels spread like hell and I cant do anything.
Dunno if there is a way to beat the game but imho you can only win when u go FULL military alle the time and hope that will do it.
There is NO way to beat it in other ways...only military maxing...

One of the best games out there if you wanna waste your time on satisfying the imaginations of a developer's version of an insurgency.
Developers attempt to be "realistic" in their approach to how an insurgency/counter-insurgency works, but as you all can understand, their imagination is limited to what they put in the Kanban board, with no real experience, so it flat out fails.
My biggest gripe with this is that,
1. You cannot train, activate your military units until the "rebels" attack. So you are always on your backfoot when it comes to military initiatives.
2. Rebels "Escape" to neighboring regions. Realistic, however, we all know that once we get our a$$ handed over in a fight, there is no way that we can just take over another "stable" region as we are literally running for our lives.
3. We "Discovered" a rebel cell, camp, stronghold... what ever the devs want to call it... in a "stable" region all of a sudden and just because we "discovered" a hidden cell, all of a sudden now they are taking over a "stable" region. Are the devs retarded? This is exactly why the "police", "intel" and "local militia groups" are there - sniff out and defend a region from such activities if necessary.
4. Present realistic complex problems. However, they present only dumbbed down three choices for every problem.

This game has a lot of complexity and thought behind it, but sadly it is just a time waster due to the developers' shallow implementation and dumbing down. Would not recommend it at all.

The fact that connectivity for co-op is spotty and buggy at best is really heartbreaking because this game is excellent. But the connection breaks at the end of every campaign (which is annoying but in itself isn't such a huge obstacle) -- HOWEVER -- the start of campaigns often have crashes which cause the disconnect to be treated as a loss, forcing the players to go down a stage and wasting all that effort. My friend and I (despite multiple disconnections knocking us back) got up to stage 7 in the co-op campaign before two start-up disconnects back-to-back made us both log off in disgust. I may come back to the game in a few months to see if these issues have been addressed... but for now I'm giving it a bittersweet (and negative) review on steam saying it's an excellent game but it is too buggy/drop-crazy that it is in it's current state unplayable.

Really sad and almost disgusting that such a great game could be such a badly flawed gem. I really wanted to love this game, but fixing the issue could be as simple as counting a disconnect as not a loss but leaving you to repeat the same stage. I played this game until I started to feel like Sisyphus and that's officially bulls**t.

Fix connectivity issues and/or remove punishment for disconnects in campaign mode. Full stop.

reviewing mostly because there seems to to a lot more neg reviews recently. no clue fully what's up with that but it's a nice game worse then plague inc. but there's a lot of fun here when you learn how the basic mechanics work

great game

Its cool. Maybe a bit chaotic, but i like it anyway.

This game doesn't play out like Plague Inc, it's much different, much more difficult and can be harsh at times but fair. It's a great game overall, but just know that this game is not for everyone.
